Multisim Modelathon Event: 24th-26th August 2015
Ridge, Ranmoor Village, Sheffield
The MultiSim Modelathon is based on the concept of a hackathon event
where different teams work on a challenging problem to ‘hack’ a
computer code. Here there is no ‘hacking’ but ‘modelling’. Instead
the teams will compete to solve a challenging multiscale biomechanical
problem within the musculoskeletal system using state-of-the-art
techniques and software.
The event is open to all PhD students and Post-doctoral researchers
working in the area of biomechanics or image-based computer simulations,
and will provide an amazing opportunity for young specialists working in
the area of multiscale modelling to interact with like-minded individuals
in a competitive environment.
During the course of the Modelathon participants will listen to presentations
from software companies and experts in multiscale modelling, including; Smith
and Nephew, NVIDIA, Simulia, Ansys and our key event sponsor, Simpleware.
As well as be expected to present their findings as part of a team on the
last day of the event.
The winning team will be announced once all presentations have concluded
and a £100 voucher will be awarded to each member of the winning team.
The event will run over 3 days (Mon 24th - Wed 26th August 2015) and
be held at the Ridge, Ranmoor Village, Sheffield. Attendance is only £100,
including; all meals, refreshments and accommodation in the Ranmoor
Student Village. Travel costs will need to be covered by the participant.
