How to back up everything on your PlayStation 5
The built-in backup program is designed to help you quickly back up all of your PlayStation 5 content. You can backup all of your important data onto an USB stick with this software. However there are some considerations that you must consider prior to utilize it.


It's a smart move to first organize the PS5's storage to reduce the backup's size. Uninstalling any games you don't play anymore and deleting old backups will cut down on the time required to backup. To determine how much storage is available on your console, head to Settings > Storage. Be aware that the Other category isn't the only one included in the backup, since that includes system software files and other data you don't require to secure.

The backup doesn't include the contents of an M.2 SSD that you have within your PS5. Be sure to transfer anything you want to back up to the internal storage first (following the above guideline).

Trophies that you've earned frequently sync with your PlayStation Network account, which ensures they are safe. This can be done by selecting your profile's icon on the top-right of the PS5's screen. This option is contingent on your needs. It is possible to backup your saved data if you have an internet connection that is swift and you're not afraid of downloading digital games again. It isn't possible to replace saved data or captures, settings and games are more useful.

After you've chosen the data to backup and you'll find the size of the backup file. If you want to track any information about the backup file enter a description and hit Back Up. Your console will restart several times during this process. You'll notice Backup complete once it's completed.


You can disconnect the USB drive and store it in a safe place until you're in need of it.


How to recover your PS5 backup


If you require a reset your PS5 to fix an issue (such like the blinking blue light issue) or your data has become corrupted for another reason You can restore the backup you made.


Restoring the data on your PS5 can erase all your data. Backup all data on your PS5 but you have not yet backed to using one of these methods.


Connect the USB drive again to the system to start the restoration. Next, go to Settings > System > Software > Backup and Restore. The next time, you can choose to restore Your PS5.

Then, choose the data you'd like to restore from your backup. You don't have to choose every single thing, but as the process erases all information from your console, it's best to restore it all. Just like the backup the console will reboot at least a couple of times while it restores the data. After it is done then your console will display the home screen.


If you choose to use the restore function when you restore your PS5 automatically turns off the Console Sharing and Offline Play feature. This is a function used to gameshare on PS5 Make sure you turn it off following the restoration process.
