Thankfully, a number of the cards are very beautiful and this compensated rather for my preliminary disappointment. The Queen of Cups, with her far gaze and discarded cherub, seems to sum up the romantic creativity of the time, along with The Moon card, which depicts a wistful maiden underneath a velveteen-blue sky.</p>
