Muggle adalah julukan penyihir untuk memanggil manusia yang tidak mempunyai ahli sihir apalagi masuk Hogwarts. Muggle tidak bisa terbang. Muggle juga sangat asing dengan kehidupan wizard dan juga sebaliknya.
Muggle hanya bisa berjalan menggunakan kaki biasa. Sapu bagi wizard berguna untuk alat terbang. Tapi sapu bagi muggle berguna untuk membersihkan kotoran di lantai.
Jika muggle dan wizard menikah mereka akan memiliki keturunan (anak) halfblood yang artinya separuh darah wizard dan separuh darah muggle.
Biasanya muggle tidak peduli tentang dunia sihir. Tetapi, jika ada Muggle melihat hal-hal yang berbau sihir secara tidak sengaja, maka Kementerian Sihir akan mengirim petugas yang disebut Obliviator akan menghapus ingatan mereka untuk menjaga kerahasiaan dunia sihir.
