Find out what your favorite breed of dog reveals about the personality of its owner according to a scientific study!

Have you ever judged or made assumptions about a person's character based on their dog's breed? A scientific study indeed confirms that the choice of a dog has a lot to do with the character of its owner.

Doctor Lance Workman, the author of this study, explains: People often tell us that the character of their dog is like their own. In light of this, we asked whether these stereotypes may be tested. In a study, he found that people subconsciously resemble the pets they own. Jo Fearon studied one thousand dog owners using an online questionnaire to determine our five main characteristics that define our personality: extraversion, friendliness, emotional stability, straightforwardness, and intelligence.

When someone chooses a dog, he believes that they subconsciously want a pet that looks like them. Like finding a partner for a romantic relationship. You are more likely to stay together if he suits you well; Contrary to popular belief, opposites rarely attract: a relationship must have a lot in common for it to work. The owners of gun dogs are more conscientious and generous.

Our survey found that people who own hunting dogs, such as Labrador Retrievers and Cocker Spaniels, are more positive and engaged. Dr. Workman has had a Cocker Spaniel for a long time. He looked like a brother to me, I think.

There are more outgoing herding dog owners.

The owners of herding dogs were more outgoing, similar to German Shepherds or sheep dogs. The choice of dog is influenced by the person's lifestyle, concurs Dr. Workman. Dogs that make friends easily are usually chosen by their owners. They will say, "This dog reminds me of me!".

Pack dog owners are calmer.

People who own pack dogs such as greyhounds or beagles are more likely to be emotionally stable, according to Dr. Workman's survey. By that, he means they are calmer and more consistent, noting President Lyndon Johnson owned a beagle.

Owners of sleeve dogs are open to new experiences.

Lap dogs, like Chihuahuas and Yorkshire Terriers, cultivate conscientiousness and openness to new experiences.

Dr. Workman says that people's ability to deal with new experiences is often linked to intelligence; previously, it was believed that the people drawn to muff dogs were linnet heads.

The owners of non-sporting dogs are usually more conscientious.

The owners of non-sporting dogs, such as the English Bulldog, the Shar-Pei, and the Chow-Chow, are more outgoing and conscientious.

Owners of burrows were not characterized by any particular characteristics.

It was found, however, that no special character traits were associated with people who own terriers like Staffordshire bulls or Scotties. According to Dr. Workman, burrow owners do not stand out; they are neither like this nor like that.

Researchers found that guard dog owners did not stand out from the rest.

Similarly to the owners of terriers, individuals who own guard dogs, such as a Doberman or Schnauzer, do not identify with any particular characteristic.
