DADA (Defence against the dark arts.)
Voldemort, also known as the dark lord, is known in many of our history books. But do you know why? He was able to use the killing curse, "Avada Kedavra," and he did not show
mercy with it.

He is known for being the strongest dark wizard of our times. He fought many great witches and wizards and defeated anyone who crossed his path.

But one boy stuck out. Harry Potter, the boy who lived, was undefeated by Voldemort. Voldemort and Harry had a connection that was stronger than any unbreakable promise ever could be.

1)Who did we talk about today?
2)What was this person known for?
3)Who was this person unable to defeat?
On the night of Halloween, Voldemort goes to the Potter's house, with the intent of murdering the Potter's only son, Harry. But, this does not go down well, as all of you may know. Lily Potter used the most powerful potent magic there can be ... Love. Lily used the power of love. love is so powerful it can protect beyond death. Harry Potter's mother Lily sacrificed herself to save him, and that selfless act imbued him with magical blood so that he could not be harmed or even touched by anyone, such as... lord Voldemort. The spell rebounded and hit Voldemort, which was Voldemort's only known defeat.

The three unforgivable curses - These include of ... The imperius curse ''Imperio'' - Allows you to take control over the mind of any other living being. The cruciatus curse ''Crucio'' - The curse allows you to inflict excruciating pain on the victim. It was one of the most powerful and sinister spells known to Wizardkind. It is described as white-hot knives piercing every inch of your skin, and your bones being set on fire. And lastly, the killing curse ''Avada Kedavra'' - This curse allows you to instantly kill your victim, painlessly. The cruciatus curse was famously used by ''Bellatrix Lestrange.'' She used this curse on the Longbottoms sending them straight to St Mungo's Hospital. This curse is irreversible. And the killing curse was famously used by Lord Voldemort, who he used on the Potters and many other witches and wizards. Many people got out of going to Azkaban because they would claim they were under the Imperio curse. These curses were banned in 1717 by the ministry. These curses were made illegal for obvious reasons. The curses inventors of the curses are unknown. And all of these curses cannot be blocked by any shield charm, but you can dodge them or, use a solid object. Using any of these curses on a person will mean you will be sent to Azkaban for ... Life!

The Boggard - A boggart is a shapeshifting creature that takes the shape of your worst fear. Usually found in dark and confined spaces, they have similar abilities to the form that they take. It isn't known of a boggart's true form, because it takes the form of your fears before you get to see it. The incantation for the Boggart-Banishing Spell was Riddikulus. This is a charm that is used in defence against a Boggart. It only works if used together with laughter, the only measure to defeat a Boggart. A Boggart also gained the weaknesses of whatever they turned into. For example, if it turned into a Dementor, it could be repelled by a Patronus Charm like a normal Dementor. A boggart in the form of a Dementor could also trip over its robes, revealing its true nature. If you were to find a boggart, perhaps you want to think about yourself as fearless and tough, but if you found a boggart, it would show you your most vulnerable parts, those who you’re trying to deny. In this case, the boggart will probably turn into a pale, weak version of yourself, who’s crying and speaking about your fears and all the other things you tried to deny. When facing a boggart, it is best to have someone else along, to try to confuse it, since facing more than one person at once would make it indecisive as to what form it must take, usually a mixed-up amalgam of the victim's fears.

Divination, in a sense, is all about connecting with yourself and thereby helping you connect with others.

This may come by having similar astrological signs, or by having your tarot read and having an honest conversation about yourself and your struggles with another real human being.

There are two main types of divination. The two main kinds are general information about the future and specific information about the past.

Is astrology considered divination? Astrology is a type of divination that involves the forecasting of earthly and human events through the observation and interpretation of the fixed stars, the Sun, the Moon, and the planets.

What do you call someone who practices divination? We call them “diviners”.

COMC (Care of Magical Creatures)

One of the most famous magical creatures is the Niffler. The Niffler is a magical beast with a long snout and a coat of black fur. Nifflers have a pouch on their bellies that hold far more than at first seems possible.

They are attracted to shiny things, which makes them wonderful for locating treasure, but that also means that they wreak havoc if let loose. Other than that, they are harmless.

Native to Britain, they live in burrows as deep as twenty feet below ground, and females produce six to eight young in a single litter.

Nifflers are kept by Goblins to burrow for treasure.

Quiz Time :

1)What did we talk about today?
2)What colour fur does a Niffler have?
3)What is Niffler's attracted to?
4)Where are they, Native?
5)Goblins keep Niffler’s to burrow what?
Spell Casting

Focus on having the class use “Protego” and “Stupefy”. Anything else, and the class never goes well, so stick to the simple spells and the class will do fine.
Have the class pair up and choose one person to use the protection spell and the other person to do the attack spell. Make sure everyone spreads out, or people will be hit with “Stupefy” and not be the caster's partner.

History
Hogwarts. Hogwarts was founded in the 10th century by four founders Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw, And Salazar Slytherin. Hogwarts is located in the Scottish Highlands. Muggles cannot see Hogwarts. Hogwarts castle is protected by several enchantments. This means that Muggles are not likely to ever stumble upon the castle, If they come anywhere near it they will see a ruin with signs telling them to ‘Keep Out’. An enchanted quill and book decide if you’re ready to go to Hogwarts, ''the Book of Admittance and the Quill of Acceptance.'' When future students get their Hogwarts letters, delivered by owls, it is the most magical time in a young wizard or witch’s life, but the way they are chosen in the first place is also even more enchanting. In a small, locked tower at Hogwarts is an ancient book that has not been touched by human hands since the castle was built. There are four houses at Hogwarts these include ... Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. To get sorted into these houses, you need to show the characteristics. The characteristics are ... Gryffindor: Bravery, courage, chivalry, daring and bluntness. Hufflepuff: Loyalty, too trusting, kind and, humble. Ravenclaw: Intelligent, Individualism, wise, independent and creative. The current headmistress of Hogwarts is Minerva M c G o n a g a l l after the downfall of Severus S n a p e. The second wizarding war ended at Hogwarts.

Nicolas Flamel. Nicolas Flamel is the creator of the philosopher's stone. He created the stone in 1410. Nicolas Flamel is said to have been born somewhere around 1300 to 1326 in the French commune of Pontoise. Being of the advanced age of 665 years in 1991, the approximate age of the alchemist if he were born during the 14th century. Historical records, as well as Flamel’s last will dated in 1416, further indicate that he was alive during the 14th century. It is said Flamel is immortal. Flamel gained Immortality thanks to the recipe for the philosopher's stone in the codex and therefore does not age. He Was 666-696 Years At The Time Of His Death. Although Nicolas Flamel is reported to have died in 1418, many believe that his death was a sham and that he had indeed faked his death. The reasons for his immortality are stated to be his discovery of the Elixir of Life, a potion he had created using the Philosopher’s Stone. He kept some Elixir of Life for himself and his partner so that he could set his affairs in order before dying.

Charms
Expelliarmus, also known as the ''Disarm charm,'' is a charm that allows you to disarm your opponent, knocking anything they are holding out of their hand. This charm is very useful in duels and is famously used by the boy who lived himself, Harry Potter. It is only used to make wands from your opponent, whereas other spells can be used for summoning or pushing away an object. The most important thing to mention is that spells aren't like software. You don't run them, and the same thing happens over and over again. There's a hidden component that we don't really get to see involving intention, will, power and practice. If a powerful, but inexperienced user casts a spell, it will have a markedly different effect than if an older, but less powerful wizard casts it. I need a volunteer. Hands up only! And I will pick!

Protego - Protego also known as the ''Shield charm'' is a charm that allows you to create an invisible shield around you, therefore, blocking oncoming jinxes, hexes, and minor curses. The Shield Charm's origins are unknown, but in use by the 15th century. The most famous use of the charm took place in 1484, in the town of Poppleton, where the tyrannical Earl of Paunchley held a jousting match. There are other forms of Protego that include ... ''Protego duo'' - It was a more powerful version of the traditional Shield Charm, although it was not as powerful as the other Protego's. Next, we have ''Protego horribilis'' It was probably the most powerful version of the Shield Charm, which was used as a protective enchantment against anything approaching the protected area, and against any dark magic, except the Killing Curse. ''Protego Maxima'' People who were out of the shield couldn't see and hear the wizards or witches that were protected. Spells cast at it (if not of enough power to break it) created large, resonating explosions. This spell was the core of the shield summoned around Hogwarts; it was the shield itself that was seen descending over the castle. ''Protego totalum'' Protego totalum was the incantation of a protective enchantment used to shield a certain area or dwelling for an extended period of time. ''Protego Diabolica'' Protego Diabolica was the incantation of a powerful dark charm that allowed the user to create a protective ring of black fire around them that completely incinerated enemies of the caster who came into contact with it while leaving their allies unharmed. Now, I will demonstrate this charm.

Muggle Studies - Today's lessons will be on the microwave. Microwaves are used to heat foods, allowing 'muggles' to eat certain foods ... Such as ... Popcorn which was the first food used in the microwave. Invented by 'Muggle' Per c y Spe nc er. Spencer invented the microwave by accident while building magnetrons. Originally Not Intended for Domestic use. In the beginning, microwaves were mostly used in restaurants. First Microwave Was the Size of a Small Horse. The first microwave was 6 feet tall. And cost as Much as a Used Small Car. In addition to the microwaves being huge, the price was also very large. The microwave is In 90% of 'muggle' homes. One of the most interesting facts I’ve stumbled across is that microwaves are currently in over 90% of 'muggle' homes. If you factor in dorm rooms and offices, I would assume there are enough microwaves for almost every adult in the non-magical world. Microwaves have a Lot in Common with 'WIFI' another 'muggle' invention. A facility allowing 'computers', 'smartphones', or other devices to connect to the 'internet' or communicate with one another wirelessly within a particular area. Believe it or not, microwaves and 'WIFI' routers operate at the same frequency. 'WIFI' routers send and receive data that is sent to a modem. Modems then send the data to the 'internet'. This process continues whenever you have an open internet connection.

The internet - The 'internet' is a 'muggle' invention used to seek information on anything across the globe on a real-time basis. This 'muggle' invention was created by 'muggle' T i m Ber ne rs L ee in the 1960s. You can also use the 'internet' to communicate, and 'collaborate' with others. Most traditional communication 'media', including 'telephony', 'radio', 'television', paper mail and newspapers are reshaped, redefined, or even bypassed by the 'Internet', giving birth to new services such as 'email', 'Internet telephony', Internet' television,' online music, 'digital' newspapers, and 'video streaming websites'. The word 'internetted' was used as early as 1849, meaning 'interconnected' or 'interwoven.' The word 'Internet' was used in 1974 as the shorthand form of 'Internetwork.' Today, the term 'Internet' most commonly refers to the 'global system of interconnected computer networks,' though it may also refer to any group of smaller networks. When it came into common use, most publications treated the word 'Internet' as a capitalized proper noun; this has become less common.

Astronomy - The sun- Well, the sun is in fact a star, and has a temperature of 5,778 K. The sun is over 4.6 billion years old. The Sun is all the colours mixed together, this appears white to our eyes. The Sun is composed of hydrogen 70% and Helium 28%. The Sun is a main-sequence G2V star (or Yellow Dwarf). The Sun is a main-sequence G2V star (or Yellow Dwarf). The Sun is a main-sequence G2V star (or Yellow Dwarf). The Sun is a main-sequence G2V star or Yellow Dwarf. The Sun is 109 times wider than the Earth and 330,000 times as massive. The Sun’s surface area is 11,990 times that of the Earth’s. The distance between the Earth and the Sun is an Astronomical Unit (93 million miles).
One million Earths could fit inside the Sun. A hollow Sun would fit around 960,000 spherical Earths. If squished inside with no wasted space, then around 1,300,000 would fit inside. The Sun’s surface area is 11,990 times that of the Earth’s.

Mars - Named after the Roman God of war, Mars is the fourth planet from the sun in our solar system. Mars is also known as the ‘Red Planet’ because, well, it’s red! This signature colour comes from the large amount of a chemical called iron oxide (or ‘rust’ as you might know it) in its rocks and soil. Mars is the second smallest planet in the solar system after Mercury. With a diameter (distance through the middle) of 6,791 kilometres, it’s roughly half the size of Earth. It can get pretty cold on Mars –– much colder than our own planet, since it’s further away from the sun. At the equator, temperatures can reach 20°C, but at its poles they can plummet to as low as -140°C. Mars is home to the highest mountain in our solar system –– a volcano called Olympus Mons. Standing a whopping 24 kilometres high, it’s about three times the height of Mount Everest! You could jump around three times higher on Mars than you can on Earth. Boing! This is because the planet’s gravity – the force that keeps us on the ground – is much weaker. Do you like to look at the moon at night? Well, check this out –– Mars has two moons! One is called Phobos and the other Deimos.

Transfiguration - Vera Verto is a spell used to turn animals into a goblet. Once performed, a jet of nearly indiscernible, crystal-clear mist, almost like a spray, will shoot from the caster's wand, engulfing the animal and quickly morphing it into a goblet with a quiet whooshing noise. If performed incorrectly, a spasm of greenish light will shoot from the wand with a crackling, whining noise and the target will be transfigured improperly. It may still be furry or might possess a tail (or a combination of the two). This spell appeared moderately difficult to perform and could be disastrous if done wrong, and in some cases might even still emit vocal sounds.

Animagus - An Animagus is a person who can change from a human into an animal and back at will. It was a learned skill, unlike the hereditary skill of a Metamorphmagus. An Animagus Registry existed to keep track of those that had learned to transform in this way. It took skill, practice, and patience for wizards and witches to become Animagi. The process of becoming an Animagus was long, difficult and tiring, and had the potential to backfire and cause the transformation to go horribly wrong. Many witches and wizards simply felt that their time might better be employed in other ways, as the skill was of limited practical use unless one had a great need of disguise or concealment. To become an Animagus you needed to put leaf of a Mandrake in their mouth for an entire month, using the leaf for the creation of a potion, reciting an incantation (Amato Animo Animato Animagus) on a daily basis, and drinking the Animagus potion during a lightning storm. Once the initial training was over, an Animagus could then change at will, with or without the use of a wand. Animagi who took on the form of species capable of flight could enjoy the sensation without the need of broomsticks, flying carpets, or riding on flying animals. The process was extremely difficult and could result in disaster (such as permanent half-human, half-animal mutations) if done incorrectly.
