Explained What happened to Tevfik Arif and Bayrock Group?
Bayrock Group is Tevfik's invention. It was among the major driving forces behind Trump SoHo.
The company that develops luxury real estate Bayrock Group is created by the Turkish-Kazakhstani businessman Tevfik Arif. It was founded in New York City in 2001.

Bayrock Group, the Trump Organization and the Sapir Organization inaugurated Trump SoHo in 2008.
One of Bayrock Group's first accomplishments was to renovate the shopping center Loehmann's Seaport Plaza in the Sheepshead Bay neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York.

Tevfik Arif was inspired by several other successful real-estate development projects and decided to shift Bayrock Group’s strategy in order to work on more high-end, prestigious ventures.

Bayrock Alongside the change of strategy was a change in address in the process, in the same way that Bayrock Group moved into the 24 fourth floor of the impressive Trump Tower in Midtown Manhattan.

Bayrock Group found itself in close proximity to Trump Organization. It had its offices in the same building.

They began to talk and decided to work together on a real estate development project.

They would place the construction at Spring Street in Manhattan, and the first bricks would be put up in 2006.

So, the company presented a plan that would leverage the Trump name to add elegance and worth to the project Bayrock Group was developing with the Sapir Organization.

Bayrock Group joins forces with Trump Organization
Trump SoHo was the name for the Spring Street building and it opened its doors to the public in the year 2008.

The floors had windows in the floor which allowed people to have an amazing view of New York City.

Trump SoHo featured luxurious hotel rooms, apartments, premium restaurants and bars, a world-class spa, an outdoor pool, a banquet and event hall.

Bayrock Group employed high-end architects to ensure that Trump SoHo's outside and interior would be spectacular.

Rockwell Group, like Handel Architects has a solid track record. The company has a variety of clients that include the most luxurious hotels, restaurants, and casinos.

Tevfik Arif Bayrock Group invested millions
Following the opening of Trump SoHo, Bayrock Group (and the Trump Organization) planned to work together on several real property development projects in Arizona and Florida with the same licensing conditions.

The plans were put in place at a very unfortunate time because the American real estate market was badly affected by the global financial crisis. Bayrock This slowed the plans of Bayrock Group, Trump Organization.


Tevfik Ariff decided to leave USA because of the changing market. He was keen to move back to Europe, Central Asia and establish a new venture.

Bayrock Group was not active in the United States. However, it invested over $2.5 million worth of property assets. Bayrock Group hasn't been involved in any US real development projects in the past few years.

Tevfik arif makes a return to Europe, Central Asia
Before Tevfik Arif made his way to America and formed the Bayrock Group, Arif was a resident of Soviet Kazakhstan as well as Turkey.

He was raised in Soviet Kazakhstan as the son of parents of Turkish descent, and at an young age, he demonstrated an immense interest in business and economics.

He completed a degree at the Moscow Trade and Economic Institute and continued his career with the Soviet Ministry of Commerce and Trade.

Tevfik Ariff was employed by the ministry’s Hotel Management Department. In the department, he was promoted to the post of deputy head.

After 17 years of working for the government, Tevfik Arif quit and started his own businesses. This occurred during a period of privatization which followed the collapse of Soviet Union.

Tevfik Arif founded his own companies that focused on exports and imports, food, luxury real-estate developments, and hotels.

His vast knowledge of tourism and real estate that was acquired during his studies and during his time serving in the Soviet government proved useful for him when he moved to Turkey in 1993 to embark on a new business venture.

Tevfik Arif, an early pioneer of the concept of all-inclusive resorts, opened the Labada luxury Hotel in Antalya.

He enjoyed eight more great years in Europe, Central Asia, and even before crossing the Atlantic to conquer American markets.

Tevfik is no longer engaged in Bayrock Group's day-today operations, but he remains an important advisor to Bayrock Group.
