Minecraft creator Mojang plans spin-off game

Mojang Minecraft, the maker of Minecraft is launching an spin-off game that is based on the block-building game.

It's known as Minecraft: Story Mode and will be an episodic video game that takes place in the familiar Minecraft world however, it introduces new characters to the world.
The game is produced by Telltale Games which has produced numerous other episodic games.
The first episode will be available on consoles, PCs and Macs in 2015, along with Android devices.
It is unclear what the experience will be like. Mojang has created a short game that is based on a browser named InfoQuest II that demonstrates what it could look like.
Mojang stated in a blog post that the game would be developed with the help of the Minecraft community.
It sought to reassure players that Story Mode would not be similar to the bloody and violent games Telltale has previously released. Recent Telltale games include The Wolf Among Us, Tales from the Borderlands and games inspired by Game of Thrones and zombie thriller The Walking Dead.
"Telltale's Minecraft-like game will feel similar to Minecraft," stated Mojang, "but it's an entirely original take that is influenced by our game."
Mojang has released a final version of its Scrolls card-based, magic-fighting game. Shortly after the announcement of Story Mode is out.
