Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, born on 7 December 7 1963 in Edo State, Nigeria, grew up in a family of faith, surrounded by loving and devoted parents. He is the child of Elder T.E Oyakhilome who was one of the founders of the Assemblies of God Church in Benin City. Angelina and the matriarch Oyakhilome were also his parents. The divine grace of her mother was passed on to her son at an early age.

The LoveWorld ministry is supported by the entire family. Reverend Ken is Ken's brother , and a member of Christ Embassy Central Executive Council. KattyWorghiren (KattyWorghiren) is director at the LoveWorld Music and Arts Ministry. This ministry has many gospel artists who are top-selling across the world.

Pastor Chris is the father of two daughters: Carissa Sharon (Charlene) and Chris. Carissa Sharon, who is also known by the name of CSO is a CSO member who has decided to follow the footsteps of her father, sharing the Gospel of God the world. She is a gifted, award-winning gospel singer and part of the LoveWorld Music and Arts Family.


Pastor Chris Oyakhilome started his education at Edo College. After a grant was made to pursue a degree in the field of architecture at Bendel State University (now Ambrose Ali University) and he was awarded the BSc degree in Architecture as well as an honorary Doctor of Science. He also has awarded an honorary doctorate in divinity from Benson Idahosa University. Ambrose Ali University was the location where he felt God calling him to become a minister to the Lord.

The Man Of God was in the University of Cambridge when he founded the church which would grow to be one of largest in the world. His prayer group, 'Youth For Christ' would eventually become one of the campus' most popular groups. They would later go on to become LoveWorld Incorporated and Christ Embassy with millions of followers.

The LoveWorld ministry was established under the leadership of Pastor Chris. It's a leader in satellite TV, Christian TV production and programming. LoveWorldSAT became the first Christian television channel that broadcasts 24/7 from Africa through free-to-air channels. There are LoveWorld satellite and cable television stations around the globe.

Christ Embassy has a strong presence in Pastor Chris's home country of Nigeria. The ministry also runs two Healing Schools in South Africa, Canada and the United States. Pastor Chris is the instructor for seasonal sessions where miracles can be achieved.

Music and Gospel Music are an important part of the worship. Pastor Chris Oyakhilome encourages Christ Embassy Churches to have a choir trained by the Loveworld Music and Arts Ministry and under the direction and guidance of Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, a lot of the singers are able to be successful in their solo careers.
