Avanos Medical and the FDA have issued a Class 1 recall of 629 units of the CORTRAK*2 Entral Access System, a feeding tube device that has been connected to numerous accidents and deaths.
The recalled devices were distributed between April 1st in 2016 and January 1, 2022. These devices can be utilized by health professionals to put feeding tubes in the stomach or in the intestines.

The recall is used to alter the device's label , which instructs users to confirm that the tube is properly set up prior to feeding.
