The Anfield Talk With Jurgen Klopp
Sky Sports legend Geoff Shreeves sits down with Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp for The Anfield Talk. The pair discuss Liverpool's transfer policy, whether Liverpool will let Alisson leave, and Tyler Morton's future at Anfield. Also, Jurgen Klopp's surprising stance on Oxlade-Chamberlain. Plus, Liverpool are reportedly interested in Benfica striker Darwin Nunez.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has a surprise transfer stance on Oxlade-Chamberlain

Following the arrival of Thiago Alcantara at Liverpool this January, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been linked with a move to Wolves. While his playing time at Anfield was significantly reduced by the arrival of Alcantara, the midfielder has become desperate to break into Gareth Southgate's England squad ahead of the delayed European Championships. Despite his recent injury problems, Klopp still believes Oxlade-Chamberlain is a valuable part of the squad and is planning to play him regularly.

Liverpool are on the lookout for another midfielder to bolster their squad. Despite this transfer ban, the club are keeping eight of their senior players from last season's quadruple-winning campaign. But if Oxlade-Chamberlain isn't available this summer, Klopp will still be able to bring in an alternative to Fabinho, the holding role.

Liverpool are ready to let winger Alisson leave

If you think that Liverpool have finished improving their attacking options at Anfield in recent months, you are probably right. This is because they have put new contracts for key players at the top of their priority list. Alisson Becker and Virgil Van Dijk are just two of those players who have been in the club for a couple of years. It is unlikely that they will be able to leave Anfield without a new contract, though.

Despite the recent controversy surrounding the Liverpool midfielder, many have been happy with his progress so far. Despite being a relatively young player, Alisson has consistently performed for Liverpool since his move from AS Roma during the summer transfer window. Last season, he played 36 games and kept 20 clean sheets, sharing the Premier League Golden Glove with Ederson and making the PFA Team of the Year. Besides Alisson, Liverpool also have Trent Alexander-Arnold, one of the best players of his generation. He has been instrumental in their recent success.

Liverpool are keen on Benfica striker Darwin Nunez

Despite attracting interest from elsewhere, the Reds remain keen on signing Nunez. The Spanish striker has been playing for Benfica since 2012 and is currently on the radar of Jurgen Klopp. Nunez has the ability to play across the frontline and in the centre, and would also be a good replacement for Sadio Mane, who has been linked with a move away from Anfield. He has been plucked from the Spanish second division by Liverpool's new manager Jurgen Klopp, and has already been linked with a move to Anfield. In February, Nunez announced on Twitter that he would change agents and was heading to the Jorge Mendes stable.

If the Reds are to sign a new striker, they must look beyond Salah to a player with his characteristics. Nunez is a six-foot-two striker, and has the pace to cut through any defence. He also has the physical strength to play in a central position. The Reds need a centre forward who can play centrally and attack the final third of the pitch.

Tyler Morton's future at Anfield is up in the air

While his future at Liverpool is currently up in the air, the club have given him glowing reviews in training. Jurgen Klopp also praised his progress and might be inclined to keep him at the club. With injuries to several senior players, he could be given regular playing time. However, his future could also be up in the air if Klopp decides to loan him out to another club.

Liverpool have a number of options in midfield. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain joined the club from Arsenal in 2017, but has yet to establish himself in the starting XI. Aston Villa and West Ham are early frontrunners to sign the France international for around PS10m. Liverpool have also made a number of new signings this summer, including PS5million signing Fabio Carvalho.

Sadio Mane's future at Anfield is up in the air

Despite a number of speculations regarding the Liverpool striker's future, it's clear that the Senegalese has been in touch with the club for quite some time. Mane has become an integral part of the Reds' front three, and is set to be out of contract in 12 months. Although he's been in contact with the club for several months, he's publicly stated that he wants to stay at the club next season.

Rumours also claim that Real Madrid and Barcelona are keen on Mane. Real Madrid have recently been linked with the Liverpool striker, but missed out on the PSG star Kylian Mbappe. Liverpool were also reportedly interested in Tottenham's Heung-min Son, who shared the Golden Boot with Salah this season. Although Tottenham have secured Champions League football for next season, Mane's future at Anfield remains unclear.

Luis Diaz has arrived from Porto

Luis Diaz has joined Liverpool for around $50 million. The Colombia international will wear the No. 23 shirt. It is the second major transfer for Liverpool this summer after Ibrahima Konate was signed for $50 million from RB Leipzig. Jurgen Klopp was effusive in his praise for Luis, and was also quick to credit Porto's academy for producing such talented players. But will Liverpool get their money's worth?

The move is highly unlikely to bring immediate dividends, but Diaz will bring fresh energy and a new level of unpredictability to Liverpool's attack. Diaz's arrival will also reduce the workload on the forwards, who have been tasked with scoring the club's goals. Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino have all had massive workloads over the last four seasons, and the new signing will ease some of the load on these players.
