I needed to update Java this morning and was in a rush. I just clicked through the first page of this wizard but didn't really pay to. Then I realized that it would install the Ask.com application. Occities Grrr.

It was possible to cancel it, but I decided to continue. But there was no evidence of the extension after the install. When I restarted it, Chrome reported that the extension "Search App By Ask 2" was added!
I went through my settings for my search engine and didn't enable it. While ask.com was added, it was not set as my default search engine. Gone with that then!
I am not happy that Oracle put an browser toolbar into the installation of the Java runtime. I'm curious how many kids who installed Java to run Minecraft have this toolbar now?
