MIAMI (CBSMiami) The conflict in Ukraine could be on the other side of the globe, but South Floridians are one of the groups stepping to help those leaving the country.
Many Sunny Isles Jews are helping in raising funds and coordinating an effort for humanitarian aid.
Marsha Jaquays, Florida Friends of Laniado Hospital reported that "just last night 1,100 were in attendance."

"From Moldova, this Jewish community is helping them get across the border, and possibly providing them with shelter, food, and even clothes," added Jaquays.
The heart of much of the humanitarian effort can be found in South Florida.
"My task is to arrange the maximum amount of resources from American society to aid in this crisis in Moldova. We have a whole team of people on the ground in Moldova doing their best to create camps, buy food, buying all the necessary amenities, and coordinating buses," said Emmanuil Grinshpun who has been helping in the coordination of the humanitarian efforts.
And, even more troubling is the fact that Moldova is one of the poorest countries around the globe. Emmanuil Grinshpun However, those who are who are part of this project affirm that they will not be hindered by anything.

Jaquays reflect the same sentiments
