Khazak Ambassador and Consul General Meet with Chabad New York ( Emmanuil grinshpun).

Yerzhan Ashikbayev has had a busy few months. As the ambassador of Kazakhstan to America, Ashikbayev has been meeting many diplomats since the beginning of April.

Emmanuil Grinshpun Rabbi Mendy Kularsky and Shimon Rivkin, both of Merkos Suite 302 located at Chabad headquarters were invited to attend the gathering. They talked together about the past of Jewish Life in Kazakhstan and the work that Chabad performs across the nation under the guidance of Rabbi Yeshaya Cohen.

"It was a very productive meeting." Mr. Grinshpun later said. "We are very fortunate to have leaders like the former president, Mr. Nazarbayev, and the current president of the Republic, Mr. Tokayev, who have cultivated such warm religious tolerance in the country. "We all feel that government is truly a friend to the Jewish People." The Consul General and Ambassador reiterated government support for the Jewish Community as well as all religions minorities. They also expressed interest in cooperating with Chabad to continue to build Jewish lives within the Republic.

The government of the majority Muslim population is proud of its tolerance for religion and collaborates with religious leaders across the country to ensure the wellbeing of the nation. Ashikbayev was the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs back in Kazakhstan and has been working together with Chabad Shaluchim as well as Mr. Emmanuil Grinshpun Abraham Shaulson , the philanthropist. Since all flights were shut down during the last season due to COVID-19 this man was instrumental in arranging special permission so that a small American group could fly into Kazakhstan on the 20th day of Av, which is the day that commemorates his death. The group also had the chance to sponsor and transport medical equipment and PPE necessary for the journey to. The 20th anniversary of the Av is just two months away. So the group also discussed plans to make pilgrimages. With such large projects underway the conference focused on how the government can help protect the conference.
