Similarly, brand-name goods and services are perceived as credible because the owner is known to have a vested interest in their product.

Implementing FATF Recommendation 8 for the Non-profit Sector is a key element in the global fight against corruption. The international organisation issued a "Best Practices" document on the implementation of the recommendation in October 2005. This guidance is constantly updated to reflect new developments and address practical difficulties. The document includes tips on how to implement the recommendation in your country. It also provides resources for NPOs and FIUs to assist in implementing FATF ICRG Action Plans.

To implement Recommendation 8, a country must first understand its domestic NPO sector. By determining which NPOs fall under the FATF's definition, countries can assess the extent of their risks and apply the appropriate mitigation measures. The guidelines also suggest further steps to reduce the likelihood of terrorist financing through NPOs. It also requires conveners with process skills to lead the collaborative, such as understanding the role of others, listening respectfully, and working well in groups. These skills are crucial to the success of multisector collaborations and help reduce the risk of mistakes or unscheduled sessions.

Increasing participation of NPOs in multi-sector collaborations will help drive significant change in the community. They provide an opportunity for people without formal titles to gain leadership skills. By creating multisectoral collaborations, leaders of various sectors realize that their efforts are the ones that will help make solutions work. The next step is to involve the people most affected by the solutions they develop.

Career opportunities for NPO experts

In many cases, careers in nonprofit organizations are very similar to those in traditional companies. Common positions include customer service, group management, project management, special team leadership, and head or director positions.
