5G wireless technology utilizes Radio waves with high frequency to connect smartphones and other devices. However, there's no research on whether or not these waves could cause cancer. Some scientists believe that 5G will weaken the immune system, which can lead to an increased risk of developing COVID-19.

Cancer
A recent resolution of The Portland City Council demands that the Federal Communications Commission do more study on the health impacts on the health of wireless 5G network. While this research is needed, it is unlikely to be completed in the same timeframe that the 5G technology is deployed. The arsonists had a plan in their minds and set the towers of cell phones on fire with the form of bunny ears. This could be related to the ongoing coronavirus epidemic. However, nobody has been able to confirm this hypothesis.

While these theories have been around for many years, the current buzz about 5G has increased their visibility. For example an New York Times article noted that Russian propaganda network RT America had been broadcasting stories on the dangers of 5G. As a result, organizations like those of the Oakmore Neighborhood Advocacy Group have been making reference to Pall's arguments in city council meetings and public forums for communities, and are vocally opposing 5G deployment in their neighborhood.

Politicians
The next generation of wireless technology, called 5G, is sweeping the country. It promises better connections and more speedy Internet, and easier access to information. Residents there were motivated to protest after 5G installers installed the network against the will of the town council. While it was legal, the town council had no power to approve the project.
