It's always awe-inspiring to see an amazing Minecraft build. Minecraft isn't about inheriting a bizarre shape-shifting gun and needing to fight against refrigerators with evil designs, but that makes for a rather simplistic description of Control. This is an extremely useful comparison, especially since we're about to be looking at this Control-inspired Minecraft build.
Ominous_Hippopotamus on Reddit, who is also the owner of our most favorite handle of all time, shared an image of a hardcore base they've been working on , inspired by the brutalist beauty of The Oldest House from Control. The Oldest House is a strange and amazing place, filled with strange trinkets, weapons , and beings from other realms. The entire area can be described as being unsettling and the video Ominous Hippopotamus put up of their base captures that wonderfully.
While we only get a short glimpse inside the base, it feels extremely accurate. The player is greeted by an open atrium, and welcoming plant life. However, the video turns a corner and shows the unsettling geometry that extends out and turns space.
It's just a stellar recreation of the location and, while it's unlikely to feature the Hiss floating around and causing havoc, it's another firm reminder of just how much attention and love is put into the builds you encounter in Minecraft. It's evident that a lot of work and time went into making it look authentic. The lighting is particularly attractive.
It's that same kind of care for the smallest of details that has players creating things like the Ghostbusters theme song from Redstone, or creating a data pack to let you mess around with Breath of the Wild abilities.
