Avril and Mon Sun get Punk on the Red Carpet of The VMA Awards.

Mod Sun and Avril lavigne were present at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards in New Jersey on Sunday.



While posing for cameras, the 37-year old hitmaker and her 35 year-old fiancé were wearing chains that matched their pants.



The Sk8er Boi was nominated for Best Alternative Video. Maneskin, an Italian band, won the award.

Mod Sun opted for a nearly all-denim outfit that included a button-up jacket and a slightly oversized pair of jeans.



Standing out: Lavigne wore a long-sleeve black t-shirt, which was tucked into a wide-legged pair of pants.



The singer-songwriter, born Derek Ryan Smith, added an element of dark to his look by wearing a pair of black leather shoes.



The singer finished his look by wearing a white undershirt and a variety of jewelry.



Lavigne was nominated for the Best Alternative Video Award for her visuals for Love It When You Hate me.



The song, which served as the second single from her latest album Love Sux, featured rapper Blackbear.
