Fortnite Creative has Courses For Minecraft Educators Now

Fortnite Creative can be an effective for learning in the same way that Minecraft can be. It might be odd to those not in school anymore, but Minecraft's Education edition is very popular, which is the reason Fortnite Creative has courses to help users use both.



The course was posted to the Epic blog and is aimed at helping "secondary teachers who are familiar with Minecraft how to utilize Fortnite Creative in the classroom." The course consists of 11 videos that provides a wealth of different features and mechanics from the game to show players how it can be used to teach.



The blog post itself provides an overview of what are likely to be the two main differences between the two games when it comes to building. As you probably know, Minecraft is all about building things brick by brick. jason's blog Fortnite, however, offers ready-to use assets. It's theoretically faster to build in Fortnite however, it may be lacking some of the features provided by the other primary difference: the coding elements.



Minecraft can be used to teach the fundamentals of programming because of how complicated command blocks and Redstone mechanisms can be. Fortnite may not have the same depth, but it provides the same freedom with different mechanics and devices. Things like the Item Placer device allow players to very easily be aware of how they affect the world around them while they're used. This creates an immediate feedback loop, which, as anyone with children will explain, is an essential element in teaching them. Overall though, it's just bizarre to hear Fortnite talk about inviting Minecraft creators in this way.
