JB Hi-Fi is Selling $499 Garmin Smart Watches for HALF PRICE
Australian electronics store JB Hi-Fi is selling a $499 Garmin smartwatch for half its original price at $249, online and in stores nationwide.

The 'VivoActive 3' watch and fitness tracker was initially reduced to $299 before being slashed by a further $50 as part of an early promotion for Mother's Day on Sunday, May 10.

A shopper in Darwin, in the Northern Territory, alerted bargain hunters in a Facebook group early Sunday morning, after she bought a watch for half-price at a JB Hi-Fi in the city's north.

Available in white with rose gold hardware, the tracker records your heart rate, measures the quality of your sleep, analyses stress levels and counts calories burned while exercising, to help you live a healthier life by better understanding your body.

You can also tap it to make contactless payments, eliminating the need to bring your wallet or phone on jogs, walks or runs ever again.

Compatible with Apple and Android phones, the watch comes loaded with GPS and 15 sports apps that take you through challenging classes of yoga, running, golf and cycling, which can be tailored to your personal goals and fitness level.

It has a seven-day battery life - almost twice as long as the popular FitBit Versa - in smartwatch mode, and 13 hours in GPS mode if you're using it for maps, distance and location.

Tech Radar technology experts said the 'sporty yet smart' watch offers useful tools which 'rival high-end devices' that are considerably more expensive.

Delighted customers gave the watch similarly glowing reviews, with one woman saying she is 'still discovering new features' almost six months after receiving it as a Christmas present.

Dozens praised the long battery life and lightweight design of the watch which is comfortable to wear for any exercise.

'I recently bought this to replace a VivoActive HR and I'm glad I did. It's got most of the same functions, but it's a bit lighter, has a round face with a much better display and it's more comfortable to wear as the strap is narrower,' one woman said.

'The strap is also easily replaceable and will appeal to both men and women. Battery life is great as well.'

A JB Hi-Fi sales assistant at a store in Darwin, in the Northern Territory, told a customer the half-price discount would run until Mother's Day on May 10.
