There are two Minecraft versions. They can be purchased separately but can't be interchanged. It is difficult to decide which one is best suited to your requirements. However, we'll help you make the decision.
The Java Edition is the original Minecraft version that is purchased through the Minecraft website. The version of Minecraft that you can grab on consoles, mobile devices and via the Microsoft Store, is referred to as the Bedrock Edition..
If you're playing Minecraft with friends, you need to get the same version as they do so be sure you check with them before purchasing.
However, if you're the first of your clan to play the game, or you plan on doing some solo Minecraft, there are couple things to think about before you decide which game you will choose.
The Bedrock Edition restricts modding
The Bedrock Edition has add-ons but it doesn't include any additional paid content. minecraft-servers.live The Java version allows you to install mods (such texture packs) for free.
If you're planning on modifying the heck out of your game and don't want to be limited by Microsoft-approved mods want to go with the Java Edition.
Bedrock is more suitable for those who want to play across different platforms
The Bedrock Edition allows for cross-platform multiplayer on mobile devices, consoles and Windows 10. The Java Edition is restricted to PC users and will not allow you to play with Java players.
Keep in mind that the Bedrock Edition will not be available on all platforms. You'll have to purchase it on each platform. However purchasing add-ons (like texture packs) will carry over from other platforms.
Hardcore and Spectator modes are only available in the Java Edition
Hardcore mode (which makes it so you aren't able to respawn after you die) and Spectator mode (which allows you to fly around and view the world) are only available in the Java Edition of Minecraft.
Bedrock or Java?
The Bedrock Edition of Minecraft is recommended for casual gamers. It is simpler to use and more stable than the Java Edition. It also lets you play with other platforms, which is a real advantage.
Java Edition is a better option if you're a more dedicated Minecraft player and want to tinker with the game's core or see the game's in-development features prior to most players.
