Badlion is a very well-loved Minecraft launcher that bundles many things together has now been officially ported over to Linux with the Badlion Client 3.1 update.
What's the purpose of this? It provides a variety of additional features right from the beginning, including enhancements like Optifine and their own "Betterframes" tool as well as anti-cheat (not in the Linux version) and a variety of tweaks for FPS enhancements There are a lot of mods that are available such as Minimap, ArmorStatus, PotionStatus, Crosshair, CPS (clicks per second), and many more. Tens of thousands of people use it, and it's nice to have options on Linux in a way that is official.
This is what it looks like as it appears on Linux. The first is the actual launcher, second is the in-game image with their own menu system.
They discussed the Linux release and said:
We are excited to announce today that the Badlion client is now available for Linux users. Our development team has been super hard at work in the past few months , trying to complete the last pieces of Linux support and fixing the compatibility issues we spoke about earlier in our announcement about Linux last year. Just in the nick of time for BLC 3.1, the team of developers was able to finalize the Linux support.
We would like to thank the Linux community for their patience over the past few months. We understand that we weren't capable of releasing the Linux version until the end of 2020 like we had hoped, however we hope you're excited nevertheless to play with the most feature-rich Minecraft version available for free!
