In a move of absolute absurdity, Turkey wants to ban Minecraft because its Family and Social Policies Ministry believes it is too violent for kids. Minecraft Servers Yes, Minecraft is being banned because Survival Mode requires you to defend yourself from zombie-like Mobs which can mean you having to kill them. According to Hurriyet Daily News, the Ministry says that children could be misled by Minecraft's pixelated, blocky world for the real one, which would lead them to believe that torturing animals was okay. Sure; okay. The reason behind the company looking at Microsoft's $2.5 billion purchase in the first place? To see if the game encouraged violence against women. At least its heart was in the right place at the outset.
Even if you have a basic knowledge of Minecraft It is possible that the whole thing appears too bizarre to be real. However, that's not the situation. As VentureBeat points out, Turkey would be the first country to ban the game in the event that the Ministry's petition is successful however, it hasn't had a long history of bans on games (you know, like real violent ones). The government's past history of preventing access to sites like Twitter and YouTube, however, it isn't clear whether it'll follow suit with Mojang's baby.
