- To use a Furnace, add a fuel source (Coal, Wood, etc.) Add the item you wish to smelt.

This guide will explain the Minecraft Furnace recipe, and how to build and use a furnace in Minecraft on every platform , including Blast Furnace.

How to make a furnace in Minecraft

Before you can construct an electric furnace, you'll need to make a Crafting Table.

Make an Crafting Table. Place 4 Wood Planks of the same type of wood in each box of the 2X2 crafting grid. Any kind of wood can be used ( Oak Planks and Jungle Planks), ).

Mine 8 Cobblestones or Blackstones.

Set your crafting table on the ground. Open it to access the 3X3 crafting grid. Depending on the Minecraft version you're playing, there is a different method to do it.

Craft your Furnace. Put 8 Cobblestones or Blackstones in the outer boxes (leave the center box empty).

Set the furnace on the ground and then open it to access the smelting menu.

Minecraft Furnace Recipe

Once you have an Crafting Table, you can build a furnace by following these steps:

8 Cobblestones or 8 Blackstones (You can't mix and match unless you're using Java edition)

To melt things using your furnace, you'll need a source of fuel such as Wood, Coal, or Charcoal.

What can you do with a Furnace?

Utilize Furnaces in Minecraft to create new items by smelting materials in your inventory. Smelting is the only method to make a wide range of items. For instance melting Iron Ore yields Iron Ingots which are needed to construct the shield.

How to Create Minecraft Smell

Whatever you're smelting to use a furnace in Minecraft is always the same.

Place the item you want to smell in the top box located on the left side menu.

Put a fuel source (e.g. Wood or Coal) in the bottom box on the left side of the Furnace menu.

Wait for the progress bar fill up.

Once the process is completed, drag the new item to your inventory.
