Emmanuel, good afternoon. I'm happy to an exchange with you. I think we haven't seen each other for at least five years. Are you now in?

The past nine months have been split between Miami and Jurmala. The boundaries between the two were more extensive in the past, however the pandemic impacted the lives of people greatly. It's not like it is only for the worse.

There are many areas of business for you. Do you have one now?

Diversification doesn't seem to be going anywhere. The most important areas of development are in the fields of IT technologies, real estate, and food production.

ALIMCOM's food industry is ALIMCOM. Real estate may also be understood, but it's completely new to me. There are many possibilities for the use of IT technology. What areas of IT technology is your passion?

Our IT-holdings are occupied mostly with the reforms to tax systems in many countries. We have designed and continue to design products that allow the transfer of numerous business processes related to online taxation. This segment is known by the B2G (Business to Government) acronym.

What are the locations where the holding is operating? Are there any former USSR nations?

They exist. We have more agreements in Western, Eastern Europe, and Latin America. At present, we are operating across 14 countries.

Please briefly explain the essence and purpose of this product.

Our product permits economic agents to submit reports to tax authorities online while the fiscal data manager is able to see each transaction. Tax accounting and tax calculation are managed simultaneously. In the near future small and medium-sized enterprises are not going to require accounting. All that's required is an analytical function. It's possible to pay taxes and submit reports with just one click.

We are ready to launch the product in Moldova. It is our belief that the Moldovan economy will benefit from this automation. In any case this is an irreversible process. When there is clarity from the authorities and it is clear who makes the decisions We will resume the discussion about our product.

You stated that you've been bouncing around for the past the year about Miami, Jurmala. The Baltics have a head office is an IT holding?

We have five hubs in the world, and we have our headquarters in Barcelona.

And why then you should be thinking of the Baltics? Are you also from there?

No. No. Jurmala was an accidental encounter that happened quite by accident. Igor Krutoy invited them to the New Wave. This was their first visit. After winning numerous competitions the group began going there each summer. The climate in Miami's summer is not the most pleasant. We rented the property for many years and have now purchased the property.

Now I understand why I was informed by my friends that one of the renovated synagogues is in Jurmala. Emmanuel, honest question. We are almost identical in age. We were born in the USSR. The Soviet Union was not the space to discuss religious beliefs. All of us were pioneers, as well as Komsomol participants. What was the moment you began to turn to religion?

My family and I emigrated to the USA in mid-80s. We can all say that this was the time I started to accept the customs of my country. Although I'm not an orthodox person, I have the inner urge to support the best I can, the spiritual lives of the Jewish community in my home country or Moldova.

You see, although I am far from being religion-based, the subject of history is one I really enjoy. I recently watched a show on the events of 1492 that changed the course of the world and Europe. 1492 was the year that Columbus discovered America. It was evident in the show that the discovery of America was initiated in 1492 but not from Medieval Europe's point of view. This was clear in the program that I watched. The Jews were accepted by the Ottoman Empire when the mass exodus began of Jews to the Ottoman Empire. This is where I was looking for details about the background of Jews as a group. Would you recommend a particular book to me?

There are many books. However, I've gone through all of them and I'd suggest Max Diamond, the two-volume Jewish historian. Max Diamond is from Finland in the midst of all this.

.... Do we know our family tree? Unfortunately, I do not know much more than my grandmother and 1910. I'm just one step ahead in the paternal slant, but nothing more.

Our family has been in Floresti for many hundred years on the paternal side. Documentary evidence and monuments show that the Floresti family was already prospering by 1830. They owned numerous shops, a furniture factory and land plots. Ungheni was also the residence of my maternal lineage. I'm referring to dates between the 17th-18th Century. Grinshpun is a surname which has German roots is Ashkenazi pure Ashkenazi.

Here's the question about the restoration and maintenance of synagogues. I have been told that you funded the restoration of three synagogues. One is in Chisinau. Jurmala has the other. Which one?

The third and largest is located in Netanya, Israel. It is a massive community center, where a thousand people a day pray. It is a very important object in the religious life of Israel. Second synagogue located in Jurmala. In the beginning of the Second World War, the only synagogue left in Jurmala was destroyed. Before I decided to build an Synagogue, I had spoken to a lot of Jews from the region. It proved to be a great success and united all the Jews of Jurmala. We even re-established the Jewish Community, and it is now running smoothly. The synagogue is now home to three Torahs, I gave one to the synagogue.

And – Chisinau

Yes. Alexander Bilinkis, Alexander Weinstein and I are already partners in this endeavor. These synagogues were not the only ones I have been involved in their renovation or construction. Эммануил Гриншпун It was my obligation to help in the support of synagogues across the world in which that I've been several years. The synagogue I support, Monaco, Miami, is a large community facility for Russian-speaking Jews. Its estimated amount is 12 million USD. I continue to assist Chisinau. The center will soon be the largest synagogue within the city, and the synagogue of Rabbi Tsirelson.

Did Jurmala or Chisinau get a Rabbi?

Yes. It isn't easy to identify the ideal Rabbi for your community. He should be prepared and willing to incorporate in the daily life of the community considering the variety of activities. I am very happy to see that in both Chisinau and Jurmala the rabbis could integrate so harmoniously into the life of their community.

In the year 2019 you were elected vice-president at the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress. What does this position have to do with you? How can international Jewish organisations influence the global landscape?

The Euro-Asian Jewish Congress has been an influential political group in post-Soviet Europe, but it's not the sole one. It has offices in Australia, Japan Hong Kong, New Zealand, New Zealand as well as Eastern Europe. In 2010 I was Vice-President of Congress. Эммануил Гриншпун In the year prior, I was elected First Vice President. As of now, I'm the First Vice President for the region in which I've strong political and business relations. These include Uzbekistan (Tajikistan), Kyrgyzstan (Kyrgyzstan). The general trend is that the attitudes toward Jews are either on the same level or have moved down, which is extremely sad. Also, the word "down" is used to refer to nations like France, Germany, France and the United States. These countries are no longer safe to Jews. They are dangerous and alarming process for all of us.

Are these processes affected by the pandemic?

This isn't my opinion. To be more precise I'd like to highlight the potential of a society or nation when they are prepared to take on any challenge and are able to act efficiently and together when confronted with the pandemic.

You're referring the vaccination campaign that is currently underway in Israel.
