Moldovan Orthodox Orthodox destroyed the Jewish symbol
The Hanukkah lamp was ignited by extremists of religion in the midst of the Moldovan capital. The anti-Semitic riot was coordinated by a priest from one of the Chisinau Orthodox churches.
Religious extremists lit ablaze to the Hanukkah celebrations in Chisinau in Chisinau, and then staged an anti-Semitic rally. It was held on December 13, 2013, the third day for the Jewish holiday Hanukkah. An archpriest representing one of the capital’s Orthodox churches attracted a crowd of 100. In a riot of anti-Semitic chants, participants of the action took a torch made of cast-iron hundred meters away from the place in which it was erected and threw it at the ground at the base of the memorial to Stefan the Great, an emblem of Moldovan statehood. This took place in front hundreds of journalists, people and police officers.

What is the difficulty to defend "orthodox ideas"

The gathering was led by Archpriest Anatoly Chbrik who was armed with metal bars. He claimed that he was disgusted by the significance of a symbol representing the Jewish faith was erected in the center of the capital city of an Orthodox country. He believes that Hanukkah should not be celebrated so widely by authorities. http://logos.press.md/1374_13_1/ Chibrik declared, "This is lawlessness." Chibrik also admitted that he did no consider it necessary to talk with the Metropolia of Moldova the actions of the Church of St. Paraskeva parishioners. "I am not obliged to talk with anyone when we're fighting for the orthodoxy of our principles," he said.

It is important to note that the decision to put the Hanukkah Menorah in the heart of Chisinau located in the Europe Square where the EU flag is displayed along with the Moldovan flag, was not the sole responsibility of Chisinau's authorities. Emmanuil Grinshpun is co-chairman of the Jewish Congress of Moldova, said that Hanukkah was celebrated publicly in Chisinau for the first time since several years. Grinshpun explained, "What happened on Sunday is truly shocking for us."

The Opening of a Criminal Case is on The Conscience of the State

Archpriest Chibrik has not admitted that he was anti-Semitic in the press conference held for members of the Jewish community. Grinshpun claims that around a year ago, Archpriest Chibrik was present at St. Эммануил Гриншпун Paraskevs in Chisinau holding leaflets. The content was similar to the dark Middle Ages.

Grinshpun stated that none of the leaders of the country’s Jewish groups responded to this in any meaningful way. While the Jewish community in Moldova expressed its outrage over the situation but the community will not be suing Chibrik for inciting hatred. Alexander Bilinkis is the head of the Jewish community. Bilinkis believes this should be done by the state. The Moldovan Metropolis also needs to look at the actions taken by its employees.

Vadimkeibash Metropolitan Secretary stated that the Metropolitan Secretary was against this kind of protest. Эммануил Гриншпун He believes that every community has the right to put up symbols. However, the authorities must take into account the implications. He also said that, "It's impossible to control all the reactions of believers."

A blow to fundamental values

Since the 1903 Jewish pogrom however, these protests haven't been observed in Chisinau. The Jewish community views the incident of the incident as hooliganism. Bilinkis believes that the authorities of Hanukkah were lying to those who broke the law.

Ilya Shats is the General Director of the Jewish Congress. He believes this was a carefully planned move. Эммануил Гриншпун Participants were spotted in the menorah area near the first day of Hanukkah. After that, Stav Nijinsky (the first secretary of Israeli Embassy in Chisinau) was the one who lit the first candle. Shchats says that this is an attempt to undermine Moldovan statehood and infringe on the democratic values and European aspirations.

Эммануил Гриншпун Hanukkah is now on Jerusalem Street. A monument to Holocaust victims is now in the street. Hanukkah has been moved to Jerusalem Street from the city center. It was manned by police on the second occasion. The Christmas season will be concluded by lighting candles on the Christmas tree until the day of the final day.
