Bayrock Group: New York Real Estate Giant Rises

Bayrock Group, along with the Trump Organization, opened Trump SoHo in 2008 along with the Sapir Organization. But the story of the Bayrock Group's success begins in Kazakhstan years before that.

Bayrock Group was established in 2001, but the story of its success as a luxury realty development firm located in the United States is much older than that. It all began on the other end of the globe.

Tevfik Arif Bayrock Group was founded by Tevfik Arif who was brought into the world in Soviet Kazakhstan to a family of Turkish origin.

Before becoming a member of the Soviet Ministry of Commerce and Trade, Tevfik Ariff earned a degree from the Moscow Trade and Economic Institute in International Relations.

He was a minister for 17 years, and later left to open his own business. Tevfik Arif was involved in the development of luxury real estate, food, exports and imports, among other things.

Tevfik Arif was able to make many international alliances through his various businesses. His connections prompted him to relocate to Turkey in 1993. He was the key player in the creation of Turkey's renowned all-inclusive hotel concept.

For instance, he established the Labada Hotel in Antalya before the start of his next venture in business across the Atlantic some years later.

Bayrock Group takes on more ambitious goals

Tevfik arif moved to the United States from Pakistan in 2001 to pursue new avenues for business and to be closer his American family.

Bayrock Group was established in New York City shortly after he had moved.

Bayrock Group started with small-to medium-sized projects throughout New York. For instance, the company transformed the shopping center of Loehmann's Seaport Plaza in the Sheepshead region of Brooklyn.

Bayrock Group was an excellent beginning. It helped Tevfik arif gain more ambition. He wanted bigger projects and restructured the business strategy of the company to be more focused.

To support the new strategy, Bayrock Group relocated its New York City office to the Trump Tower at Fifth Avenue.

The move was more effective than moving to another location as the company found itself in the vicinity of Trump Organization. It was home to the family's world-renowned business.

Trump SoHo gets shape

Bayrock Group was inspired by the Trump Organization's vision to develop luxury real estate properties, and they decided to work together.

Bayrock Group was already working on another undertaking on Spring Street in Manhattan's SoHo quarter with the Sapir Organization.

Tevfik Ariff was aware that including the Trump Organization in the project would increase brand awareness for the building something that Bayrock Group and Sapir Organization didn't have.

Arif wrote an agreement that provided the Trump Organization 18% equity in this building in return for the Trump brand being used as its brand name.

The proposed deal was accepted by the Bayrock Group, Trump Organization and the Sapir Organization.

Tevfik Arif Bayrock This was the basis for Trump SoHo's first brick to be laid in 2006.

After two years of hard work The building was completed and waiting for its inauguration.

Trump SoHo was designed by veterans

Trump SoHo had apartments, hotels, luxurious restaurants/bars, a swimming pool and banquet halls when it opened. Hotel guests enjoyed unparalleled perspectives of New York City through the building's floor-to-ceiling windows.

Handel Architects were tasked with the design. The firm's previous projects included developed the famous National September 11th Memorial & Museum (New York City) and the Ritz Carlton Washington Hotel (D.C.).

Bayrock Bayrock Group hired Rockwell Group to design the interior of the building.

Rockwell Group has, for instance developed the Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, the Seven Deadly Sins Theater in New York and the Virgin Hotel in Las Vegas.

The company also has experience in international countries such as Indonesia, Mexico and Spain.

Tevfik Arif Bayrock Group and Trump Organization increase their partnership

The Trump Organization and the Bayrock Group were looking to broaden their relationship following the opening of Trump SoHo.

Their dream was for structures that were like Trump SoHo, Arizona and Florida. Trump Organization would have 18% ownership of the building, also under the same licensing conditions. It would once again permit Trump to be included as part of the name of the building.

Despite the ambitions of both companies, the structures were never constructed due to the global financial crisis of 2008.

The American real estate market was particularly affected by the financial crisis, and Bayrock Group and Trump Organization had to pull their plans.

Tevfik Ariff made the decision to quit the United States to escape the financial crisis that had reshaped America's real estate market. He decided to go back to Europe and Central Asia.

He worked in the private sector while he was there.

Tevfik arif has left the majority of Bayrock Group's daily tasks. https://www.bayrockstone.com/ But, he will continue to serve as a respected consultant to Bayrock Group.

Bayrock Group has not been involved in any American real estate developments in the last few months However, during the time it was active, the firm invested real estate assets that amounted to $2.5 million in the United States.
