Technoblade, Popular Minecraft Creator, Dies from Cancer at 23

LOS ANGELES (Variety.com) - Technoblade is a top YouTube creator who specialized in Minecraft let's-play video, has died just one year after he announced an illness that was cancerous according to a statement from his family. He was 23 years old.



Technoblade's YouTube channel shared an emotional YouTube video in which the YouTuber's father revealed that his son was dead. "He was the most incredible kid you could ever wish for," his father said. "I miss Technoblade."



The video on Thursday, titled "so long geeks" contained a posthumous note from its creator to his followers. The message was read by his father. Isrse37's Blog "Hello everyone, Technoblade here. If you're watching this I'm dead," Technoblade's message said informing that his real name is Alex. "Thank you to everyone who have been supportive of my content over the years. I believe Technoblade would be my choice should I have another hundred lives. Those were the most joyful years of my life.



On Technoblade's website there is a message that reads "In the memory of his passing, a portion of the proceeds from all online orders will be donated to an amazing organization called curesarcoma.org," linking to the Sarcoma Foundation of America.



Technoblade the avatar of Technoblade, who's online was a crown king pig, currently has 10.8 million viewers on his YouTube channel. "I play video games too much. His YouTube bio says that he may not be the best , but that he has hot elbows.



The video was shared on Thursday along with the statement: "We, the Technoblade family, wanted to let you know how much he loved and valued his followers. Technoblade was always seeking ways to please and reward his followers since the very beginning. Even after his eventual success, he somehow managed to keep his good-natured humour, and compete with a charming balance between his self-confidence and self-deprecating wit. We ask that you honor his wishes to keep his identity private and to keep him from becoming famous.



The statement continued, "This past year has seen a number of rough spots for our son as he battled stage four cancer. He never complained and continued to make use of his shrewd mind to overcome what he knew was almost impossible odds. My son's bravery on this journey was a shining example to all of us who were fortunate enough to be with him. Thank you for sharing his journey and for doing the work he loved to do for his beloved fans."



According to his father, Technoblade wrote his final message to his fans just eight hours before his death. His father said that even though Technoblade didn't get everything he wantedto say, he did receive the most important points.



Technoblade announced his diagnosis of cancer in August 2021. He said he started feeling discomfort in his right arm earlier in the month, initially believing it was a recurrent stress injury caused by gaming. After several days the shoulder began swelling and thought that he might have fractured bones. He was then diagnosed with cancer.



Following the news of his passing tributes to the late creator were flooding in on social media.
