I was thinking about race for a while and then I wanted to look up influential white people that stood up or black people through American History.
Most people will think Abraham Lincoln straight away.
I don't understand why people think of him because on paper he's a good guy.
Sure he free'd the slaves and that's great but nobody ever looks at anything else.
It's because we're looking at the first thing on his resume.
Sure the first thing you put down is always the best thing about you, right?
Then when you realize there isn't that many good things about ya, you start exaggerating.
Maybe acting like stocking the shelves at rite aid is a little more strenuous.
Well, of course Honest Abe had a few a those on his resume too.
One for instance is a quote about the slaves he free'd.

"There is a natural disgust in the minds of nearly all white people to the idea of indiscriminate amalgamation of the white and black races. A separation of the races is the only perfect preventive of amalgamation, but as an immediate separation is impossible, the next best thing is to keep them apart where they are not already together. If white and black people never get together in Kansas, they will never mix blood in Kansas"

He's basically saying "Okay blacky, We're not allowed to whip you into picking cotton, but don't get too excited because we still don't like the idea of drinking from the same water fountain and if we catch ya you're gonna blasted with a high pressured hose. So have it!"

So basically I'm still looking for an influential white person that stood up for black people.
