HOW MANY DROPS IN A ROLL OF WALLPAPER?
So you’ve decided it’s time to renovate your home, and you’re in the planning stage of finding everything you need to turn your space from drab to fab. Budgets are allocated, your coveralls are at the ready and you’re excited to get stuck in to DIY’ing your room. Suddenly. Leaf Wallpaper have no clue how many rolls of wallpaper to buy to ensure you’re not left stranded and out of wallpaper halfway through your assignment.

We love to lend a helping hand, so to remove some of the stress from transforming your home, we have answered some of the most common questions when it comes to wallpapering a room.

How many drops are in a roll of wallpaper?

Wallpaper rolls typically measure 10m in length and 53.5cm in width. Taking a quick measurement of your wall length and ceiling height will confirm how many drops you can expect from your roll of wallpaper. Typically, ceiling height is around 2760mm. If this is the case, you will get three drops from a standard 10m length & 53.5cm width of wallpaper.

How do I calculate how many drops of wallpaper I need?
If you have particularly high or low ceilings, you can adjust your calculations based on the measurement specifications listed on your wallpaper roll using the below calculation method:

Firstly, measure the width of the room and divide by 53.5cm (the width of a standard roll of wallpaper. This gives you the number of drops you need. Then measure Leaf Wallpaper of the room, (excluding skirtings and cornices) – but add around 15cm to allow for trimming and overlap.

Then you’ll go on to multiply the height by the number of drops to get the total number of metres you need. As standard wallpaper is usually packaged into rolls of 10m x 53.5cm, check your rolls and adjust your calculations if you’re using a wider roll.

Remember – it’s always handy to a have a spare roll or two left over to help you through instances where you may have miscalculated, and to have the same pattern or design at the ready in case you need to replace a panel down the line. Leaf Wallpaper ’s also best to stick to the adage of measure twice, cut once to ensure you get the right coverage first time around.

What can Leaf Wallpaper do with a single roll of wallpaper?
If you’ve managed to wallpaper your space efficiently and find yourself with a surplus roll or two of wallpaper, it’s always a good idea to keep these spare in case you find yourself needing to patch up an area in the future. However, Leaf Wallpaper might want to incorporate your newly revamped décor into other areas of your home, so here are a few handy tips to help you do just that.

Wall Art
You can decorate hanging picture frames using your leftover wallpaper pieces. Place Leaf Wallpaper between the glass and the backing of the frame to bring your pictures to life and use it as a continuation of your newly revamped room – anywhere in your home.

Leaf Wallpaper can carry the theme through to some furniture – like the inside of your wardrobes or perhaps even a dull bookshelf. Be sure to careful clean and prep these surfaces before application to help them last longer. This is a wonderfully subtle way to enhance accessories and often overlooked spaces and keep your theme running anywhere in your living space.

Refresh your doors
You can also breathe a fresh vigour into plain doors by applying your wallpaper in the panels. This adds a chic touch and breathes some personality into an often-dull component that is usually a plain white colour. Ensure you have sufficient wallpaper to add to each door and avoid using an overly bright colour in these areas that may detract from the aesthetic you’ve built up during renovations.
