New Minecraft Launcher Launcher Starts With A Grey Screen

System Restore is your first line of defense. It can bring you back to the point prior to the issue arising, just like the time machine. You can always undo it if it does not work. You can go through the tutorial first and then restore back to where you were before it started. Make Mcprofile.net if System Restore isn't enabled on C drive in order to make it available in the future.



If the problem repeats or System Restore doesn't work then check which Windows Updates were installed at Settings > Update & Security > Windows Updates > Update History, uninstall them there or System Restore again, then immediately check for and block the Updates with the Hide Updates tool explained here: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/8280-hide-s...



Even if it is the first time you tried the steps I suggest, please repeat them in the order I suggest.



1) Run the Store apps troubleshooter from Settings > Update and Security Troubleshoot.



2) Check for and install game updates on the Microsoft Store app > Hub (three dots on the top right) > Updates.



3) Try resetting Minecraft in Windows Settings > Apps > Apps & Features > Minecraft > Advanced Options > Repair or Reset. Restart your computer and try it again.



If none of those work, uninstall Minecraft from Settings above, restart your PC and reinstall it from MS Store Hub (three dots in the upper right corner of the Store app) > My Library.



4) The Display driver is so important that updating it often is not enough. We must do everything to ensure it is functioning properly.



You can upgrade the Display driver via the PC or Display adapter manufacturer's Support downloads page. This will provide the exact model number, HP Serial No. or Dell Service Tag - as shown on the sticker that is on your PC.



While there, check for the latest chipset, BIOS/UEFI firmware (very vital), network audio, USB3 and other drivers in comparison to the ones currently installed in Device Manager. You can access it by clicking on the Start Menu.

Display issues can be solved by rolling back or deinstalling the driver via the Display Device > Driver tab. Restart your computer to install the driver.



You can also try older drivers in Device Manager > Display device > Driver tab > Update Driver > Browse > Let Me Pick.



You'll know that you've tried everything in addition to Windows Update drivers.



You can alter the resolution of the screen until it looks good. Go to Settings > System > Display.
