Poker – The Game of Elegance
Poker was played for the first time more than two thousand year ago in Egypt, Canaan, and Ancient Mesopotamia. It is still a popular game throughout the world, even though it has been played in different forms. Poker first became popular in England around the 17th century as a means to bridge the gap between the high-salaried middle class gamblers of the day and the poor lower class players who made up the lower cast. There are hundreds of variations of poker, or "flavours," available today. Additionally, the game has become more complex as the number of variations and styles have increased. Each poker website focuses on a particular aspect of the game, whether it be the style of playing, the variation, or the rules and regulations. These can vary greatly from one site to another.
