We haven't heard much about Minecraft Earth in a while. It is an augmented reality version of Mojang's game that turns the real world into a playground of your own blocky creations. The company said that a beta version of the game would be released this summer. Now, along with a new trailer for the game, the company says it will launch on iOS in the next two weeks. MINECRAFT SERVERS will follow "soon thereafter."
After experiencing live gameplay at WWDC last month, the launch of iOS-first isn't a surprise. The trailer gives a lot more details about the game. It's still worth looking at the Apple demo to find out the game's features and if you have any queries.
You'll have to sign up here for the game that is free. According to the FAQ, your device should be running iOS 10 or Android 7. Access is restricted while they work out the load on the servers of the game However, you'll have to be active in order to remain in it -- if you do not play for seven days then someone else will take your slot. You'll need a Microsoft or Xbox Live account to register and once you've signed up there's nothing to do other than wait, and get ready to build.
