This Minecraft Flying Mod Allows You To Ride On Phantoms

Minecraft is a wonderful tool for many things, like creating a home for your Dungeons & Dragons game or modding it into a blocky version of Elden Ring. One Redditor has created an Minecraft flying mod that lets players ride on ground-based creatures.



Reddit user Ameito Analyzed the building game and decided that players should have the ability to fly on winged creatures. There are many flying Minecraft mobs, and Ameito chose the phantom for this test. The phantom is an undead mob, is only created when a player hasn’t sleep or died in the game for three or more days. It is so unique that players might not have ever seen one.



Ameito's mod lets players ride mysterious creatures by using an ender eye to control them. Games explains that if they throw an endereye at a Phantom, it will kill it and summon an invisible Llamas and a new Phantom that has specific tags. The Phantom is always teleported to the llama position, so that when you mount the llama, it actually looks like you are riding the Phantom."



It could be a mystical experience for many of us, but the end result is being able to take off on a terrifying black creature of the night. The phantom's spirit is undead and will normally be burning in the daytime. However Ameito has disabled that feature to avoid mid-flight problems. It's a fun little modification, but one that opens up a lot of possibilities sky races, perhaps?
