The pre-flop round of wagering begins, which is before the flop or before the first three community cards have been turned over. The player to one's left of a dealer posts the small and big blinds. The player on the other side of the small blind posts a big blind. The big blind is twice that of the small blind. If you are playing limit hold'em then the bigblind is equal to the limit and the smaller blind is half. So, if the limit for a game is $10/20 then the big blind will be $10 and $5 respectively.

After the blinds have been paid, each player is deal four cards face down by the dealer. These cards are known as a player's pocket (or hole) cards, and must be kept hidden from other competitors. Each player must use two of these cards in order to make their final 5-card hand. Players can choose which two of their four pockets cards they want to use and combine them with three of five community cards to create their final 5-card poker hand.

It is very easy to play a Hold 'em game. Each player receives two cards. Following this, there is a round for betting card poker. The table then receives three cards, which are dealt face up. These are common to all players. A round of betting then follows. A single card is then dealt face-up, and another round follows.

BET - If there is no wager on the current betting round, a player may bet. If a player makes a bet, the poker gamer immediately clockwise of him or her (and any following poker players) may fold and raise, or call.

The dealer then proceeds to "burn one last card face down on table" and deals the final River card to the board. There are now visit here on the table, however in Texas Holdem each player still may only use 3 of those cards to make their 5 card poker hand. Poker action begins with the small-blind and the dealer acts last. Check, Bet, Raise or Fold. After the final round of betting, the showdown will begin.

Poker was originally played with one round. Five cards were dealt face down to each participant. There was no drawing. Professional gamblers later modified the rules to increase the game's profitability. Sometime after 1850 it became common practice to have wild cards and bluffing in games and around the same time drawing cards was introduced.
