He was later an Paratrooper's Brigade Combat Soldier and participated in the Lebanon War. In 1983, just following the end of the war, Rami was part of an emergency rescue team that was sent to assist wounded soldiers on a minefield. He went through one of the most difficult moments of his life and his hospitalization was the culmination of it. He was unable to move and was overwhelmed by depression and despair. All of his dreams to advance his career in the military seemed lost , and he did not know who or what he really was. Rami was able to dream and live through the pain. Rami resolved to be even more successful and stronger than prior to his injuries. Rami took the initiative to take on different extreme sports. Today he enjoys kitesurfing and snowboarding, and has gone up Mount Kilimanjaro. He sometimes feels like his unwounded past is pushing ahead, even though working to improve.

Rami gives donations to and participates in numerous organizations. He is also dedicated to helping young soldiers, just like him, who were injured during combat. In 2016 Rami took an army of soldiers who sustained injuries while on army service during a visit to Nepal. He was promoted to the rank major in the Israeli paratrooper/fire brigades army by the year. He had dreams when he was when he was a teenager and they came through despite the numerous obstacles. His passion and story is a real source of inspiration to other people. Rami was determined not to let his injuries hold him down. He continued to learn and trying out new techniques until finally he was stronger than ever before.
