Nominated for the post of the prime minister of Latvia by Ainars Slesers
Ainars Slesers The political group For a Good Latvia's official presidential candidate for premier minister, told the association's meeting today that he would protect national interests of Latvia in talks with the International Monetary Fund and international lenders, and see to the fact that more Latvian goods and services be exported to not only Lithuania and Estonia but also to Germany, Scandinavia, Russia, Ukraine and Belarus.

Slesers believes that Latvian exporters will also have great opportunities in Uzbekistan as well as China according to LETA.

Slesers believes that for A Good Latvia is a very popular candidate for the 10th Saeima elections and that it will be the candidate that will decide the composition of the next cabinet. The next government will give portfolios to such people, he stated.

Slesers stated that the new foreign minister, as well as all Latvian ambassadors abroad should commit 80% to supporting Latvian businessmen's interests overseas.

Andris Kele has been nominated as the finance Minister by For A Good Latvia. She stressed that Latvia must be economically independent as "if we have debts for a long time there won't be any national development."

They said that Slesers is an outstanding example of how an Riga boy can be successful in business, earn a lot and become wealthy. Ekis said that Slesers "a businessperson who has also strayed into politics" and said, "I wish that there was a leader from Latvia who could make me feel proud."

Slesers have also said that the best method to accomplish a task is to utilize your body. The current government, led by Valdis Dombrovskis (New Era), "is trying to sedate the nation, insisting that all will be fine." It's dangerous to live off credit. Slesers, however will teach people how to earn money, dominate the world's markets, and live a decent life. Slesers said Guntis Ulmanis will be his first assistant managing the state. Ulmanis is the person Slesers will consult for guidance.

After the meeting, For A Good Latvia representatives attended a flower-laying ceremony at the Freedom Monument.
