How to Play Fan Tan
Fan Tan, or simply fan-tan in Chinese, is an old Chinese betting game. It is also well-known in China. Like many other games, it is controlled using the "Chinese round” system. It is a game that has no chance, but shares some similarities with Roulette. The wheel spins in reverse, and it no longer turns counterclockwise.

There are 14 cards on the Fan Tan deck. A standard game board has four sevens facing up. In this game, there are two sevens facing down. The "lowball" and "highball" are the two sevens facing up. The low ball is placed in front each player in traditional fan tanning. The high ball is kept concealed from all but one player who must then figure out that the card is a fan tan and call the person with the most cards - the winner.

The high cards are those with 14 points facing up on the card. Fan-tan is a game you play with regular cards on a regular table. There are two types: the standard and special Fantans. A standard fantasy consists of fourteen cards while the special includes additional cards for seven, five, four and three.

A standard 52-card deck of fan-tans includes one outer ring that represents each of the 14 high cards. The player starts the game with selecting the lowest card from the center. Once a player has won all of his wagers and folded all of his cards, the game ends and all players are declared the winners.

A Fan Tan consists of the same fourteen cards, the four high cards and the three low cards. To make way for the high cards, however the player will need to remove two low cards. The entire deck of cards will be reshuffled to make way for the new set. One new card will be added to the middle section of the table. This is done to ensure that the original arrangement does not change.

Fan Tan can either be played solo or in a group setting. The solitaire version requires that the player draws seven cards from any spot on the table to start the game. Then, the other players take turns taking their cards off the table. The winning condition refers to a player who has removed five cards without anyone else taking action.

In a team game two people are designated as bowls who are assigned a group of cards and they are required to do their best to remove cards from the other bowls. There are different suits of cards that can be played. Each person starts the game with all of his cards in his bowl, while the others are given a bowl each. The loser is the player who has removed five cards from the bowl first.
