Ainars Slesers nominated in Latvia for the position of premier minister
Ainars who is the official candidate of the political organization For A Good Latvia for the position of prime minister, announced during the meeting today that he would stand up for the national interests in negotiations with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and international lenders and ensure that more Latvian services, products, and goods are exported to Germany, Russia, Scandinavia, Ukraine, and Belarus.

Slesers believes that For A Good Latvia will win the 10th Saeima election and will decide who will form the next government. Only those who have "a strong backbone" and who are willing to defend the national interest of Latvia will be given positions in the next government, he added.

Slesers said that the new foreign minister as well as all Latvian ambassadors abroad will be required to spend 80% of their time in foreign countries aiding Latvian businessmen.
