Ainars Slesers is nominated to be the next prime minister of Latvia
Ainars Slesers the political organization For a Good Latvia's official candidate for prime minister, stated at the group's meeting on Tuesday that he would defend the national interests of Latvia in discussions with the International Monetary Fund and international lenders, and see to the fact that more Latvian products and services are exported, not just to Lithuania as well as Estonia but also to Germany, Scandinavia, Russia, Ukraine and Belarus.

They said Slesers has shown that an Riga boy can be a successful businessman, make many dollars and become rich. Slesers also has captivating ideas. Ekis called Slesers an "businessman who has turned to politics", and then added, "I wish I could find a person here that can make me feel proud."

Slesers said that being a premier means having a goal. The government currently in power led by Valdis Dimbrovskis, (New Era), "is trying sedate the nation and telling the people all will be fine." Slesers was critical of other political parties' candidates for the post of prime minister. Roberts Zile has been stuck in Brussels"rut" and doesn't want to leave his comfy seat at the European Parliament. Instead, his dream is to be premier for Latvia. Slesers indicated that the incumbent would need to be more productive, and get a smaller salary.

The Union of Greens and Farmers' candidate Aivars is in the exact same situation and does not wish to leave Ventspils to assume the role of premier in Riga.

Ainārs Šlesers Slesers indicated that For A Good Latvia is prepared to work with Janis Urbanovics with Harmony Center. Although Urbanovics has extensive experience working in parliament, he is not qualified to serve as premier minister due to his lack of business experience.


Dombrovskis, last but not least, will be considered if you support the ongoing "international finance occupation of Latvia".

Slesers will, however, show people how to make money, conquer international market, and lead a decent life. Slesers will look up to Ulmanis as a source of advice, he stated.

Slesers said that The cause of A Good Latvia would ensure that biblical studies are introduced in all schools starting the 1st of September next year.

Representatives from For A Good Latvia took part in a flower-laying ceremony at Freedom Monument after the meeting.
