Emmanuel, good afternoon. Thanks for allowing me to chat with you. I believe we haven't spoken to each other for 5 or more years. Which part of the world is it that you are currently in?

The last nine months were split between Miami (Miami) and Jurmala (Jurmala). While the area was previously more diverse, the effects of the pandemic have had an enormous impact on our lifestyles. But that's not all.

There have always been multiple business lines. What are you doing right now?

Diversification isn't going anywhere. If we look at the main areas of focus, it's development in real estate IT technology, real estate, as well as food production.

ALIMCOM has a strong presence in the real estate and food industries. However, IT is completely unknown to me. There are millions of areas that IT technology can be used. Which area are you most interested in?

Our IT-holdings are concerned mostly with the reforms to tax systems in many countries. We have created or are developing a range products that aid in the transfer of variety business processes that are related to taxation, both online and "real-time". This type of segment is known as B2G ("Business to Government").

What happens to the territories in which the holding is operating? Are there any ex- USSR countries?

They are in existence. We have more agreements in Western, Eastern Europe, and Latin America. We currently operate in 14 countries.

Could you briefly describe the core of this product?

Our software lets economic agents report to tax authorities online, and the fiscal data operator sees every transaction. The software also allows tax accounting and tax computation to be carried out simultaneously. Therefore, we can anticipate that small and medium-sized businesses will not require accounting in the future. Other than its analytical functions tax payment and the sending of reports can all be done in just one "click".

It's an interesting topic. The future is here. You have ever considered being employed in Moldova. Moldova is your birth country you know?

We are ready to showcase our product in Moldova. This will benefit the economic development of Moldova and it is irreversible. If there is clarity and consensus with the authorities about who takes the decisions, we'll resume the discussions regarding our product.

You mentioned that you had been tossing between Miami (and Jurmala) all the time. Does this represent the headquarters of an IT company based in the Baltics

We have five hubs in the world, and we have our headquarters in Barcelona.

What is the reason for this? Baltics! There are the Baltics' roots.

No. My family's history is tied to Moldova for many generations. If we keep our historical names, then it is with Bessarabia. Jurmala came into our lives on a whim and was not a very professional. The first time we got there was when Igor Krutoy invited us to the New Wave. After many competitions they began to visit every season. Miami has a very hot summer. We rented a home for a number of years and have it now.

Now I know the reason you said that the synagogues were in Jurmala. Emmanuel, honest question. We're about the same age. Born in the USSR. Эммануил Гриншпун All of us were Komsomol members and pioneers in the past. What was your first experience with religion?

My family moved to the USA in the mid-80s. In the USA, I began to adhere to customs and rituals. But even now I am far from the strict orthodox faith, I feel an internal need to help to the best of my ability the spiritual life of the Jewish community in the nations where I reside or in Moldova, where I come from and with whom I continue to have the most close connections.

Although I don't consider myself religious, I am still a lover of the history of my country. Recently, I was intrigued by a show that detailed the events that occurred in 1492. They changed the destiny of Europe and the world. 1492 is my most favorite year when Columbus was the first to discover America. It was clear on the program that the discovery of America was initiated in 1492 however, not from a Medieval Europe's point of view. This was apparent in the program I was watching. When the mass exodus from Jews towards the Ottoman Empire began. They accepted them. I would like to know more about the culture, history and achievements of Jews. Would you recommend a particular book to me?

There are a lot of books available. I've read the majority of them. I would recommend Max Diamond, a two-volume Jewish historian. Max Diamond is also from Finland.

In terms of "personal" historical .... Do you know the family tree of your family? Unfortunately, I don't know much more than my grandmother and 1910. From the paternal perspective, a step further, but no more.

The paternal line of our family lived in the Floresti region for a number of hundred years. Monuments and documents show that the family of Floresti was wealthy by 1830. They owned several stores, a furniture factory as well as land plots. My maternal ancestors also resided in Ungheni. This is the region of the 17th-18th-century. Grinshpun is a surname having German roots, and we're pure Ashkenazi from Eastern Europe.

Here is the issue regarding the restoration of synagogues. I was told that you had financed the restorations of three synagogues. One of them is located in Chisinau and one in Jurmala. The third one is in Jurmala.

The third and the largest, is located in Netanya (Israel). Netanya is a large community center where a thousand people pray each day. This is an important structure for the religious life in Israel. The second synagogue in Jurmala. The sole synagogue in Jurmala was destroyed in the early days of the Second World War. Before I took the decision to build a synagogue , I'd spoken with several residents Jews. I then made the decision to finance its construction and invite Rabbis to visit it. It was a success that brought all Jurmala's Jews from Jurmala. We have actually re-created an existing Jewish community which is successfully functioning. Three Torahs are now displayed in the synagogue, including one which I presented to the synagogue.

and - Chisinau

Yes. Alexander Bilinkis is one of my partners. Alexander Weinstein is another. The three synagogues I mentioned were not the only ones in which I participated in restoration and construction. It was my duty to help in the support of synagogues in all countries I have lived for a while. My contribution is currently being made in Monaco which is where a huge community centre that caters to Russian-speaking Jews is being built. It is estimated that it will cost approximately 12 million dollars. Chisinau will remain my support - the synagogue Rabbi Tsirelson is now one of the biggest within the city.

Did Jurmala or Chisinau get an Rabbi?

Yes. It is not easy to identify the ideal person to manage the community. He must be able and willing to integrate into the community's life, due to the many activities. And I am pleased to see that in both Chisinau and in Jurmala the rabbis were able to integrate so harmoniously into the lives of the community.

In the year 2019, you were appointed vice-president of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress. What does this position mean to you? And how do international Jewish organizations impact global trends across the globe?

The Euro-Asian Jewish Congress, a influential organization in the post-Soviet zone is not just an influential political organization. In the year prior I was elected as the First Vice-President. I am now in charge of the area where I have strong political and business connections. These "countries" are Uzbekistan Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan. The world's trends show that attitudes toward Jews is either still at the same level as it was before or has fallen, which is very disappointing. Additionally, "down", refers not just to the developed nations like the United States, France, Germany and France as well as other countries like Belgium and Germany. These are not safe for Jews. They are extremely dangerous and disturbing events that affect all of us.

Is the pandemic affecting these processes somehow?

It's not so. Instead, I want to highlight, with regard to the pandemic, what a group, or country, can do when they have the capacity to overcome any obstacles and act together effectively.

Are you talking about the vaccination program in Israel?

Exactly. Israel is the only country in the world that provides 100% vaccination of adults. Эммануил Гриншпун I think this is an excellent example and a lesson which other countries can learn from.
