Emmanuel Grinshpun. Restoring synagogues and the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress
Emmanuil Grinshpun and her co-hosts discussed the issue of the restoration of synagogues during their interview. It was however impossible to keep the conversation focused on a single topic. There were many other topics covered in the interview.
Emmanuel, good afternoon. Thank you for allowing me to have a chat with you. I don't think we've been in contact for more than five years. Where in the world is your current location?

The nine months that been between Miami and Jurmala were split. The geographical area was greater before, however the pandemic has impacted the lifestyle. By the way I'm not able to say that only for the worse.

https://bandochoi.com/members/emmanuil-grinshpunyxlw634/activity/1972352/ You've always had multiple business lines. What are you doing you do today?

Diversification hasn't changed. If we examine the main areas of focus that are developing, it's realty, IT technologies and food production.

The food industry is naturally, ALIMCOM, real estate is also understandable, but IT is completely new information for me. There are many possibilities to use IT technology. What are you specialising in?

Our IT-holding is focused on reforming tax systems of a number nations. We have created and are currently working on tools that allow you to transfer various business processes related to taxation online. This is referred to as B2G (Business-to-Government).

Эммануил Гриншпун What about the territories where the holding is operating? https://notes.io/quZHd Formerly, were they part from the USSR?

They are also available, however we also have agreements in Western as well as Eastern Europe as well as Latin America. Currently, we operate across 14 countries.

What's the core of your product?

Our software allows tax professionals to report electronically to tax authorities. The fiscal data manager then sees the entire transaction. Tax accounting and tax calculation can both be done in parallel. In the near future, small- and medium-sized companies won't require accounting except for its analytical function. Making payments for taxes and sending reports is done in just one "click".

Interesting area. The future is here. Have you ever thought about being employed in Moldova? Moldova is the country you were born in you know?

We are prepared to launch our product to Moldova, the Moldovan economy will benefit from this automation. And regardless, it is an irreversible process. When we are able to establish a clear understanding with the authorities regarding whom will make the final decisions that will affect the negotiations, we can resume.

You mentioned that you'd been tossing and turning between Miami and Jurmala all year. The headquarters of an IT holding is located in the Baltics?

There are five hubs around the world, with our head office in Barcelona.

The Baltics, why not? Are you also a part of the Baltics?

No. The history of my family for many generations is connected solely with Moldova or If we stick to historical names, then Bessarabia. Jurmala popped up in our lives almost by chance but not professionally. The moment Igor Krutoy invited me to the New Wave the New Wave, it was the first time that we were able to get there. They began visiting Miami every summer after winning several contests. The climate isn't the best in Miami in the summer. We were able to rent for a number of years and now are now in possession of it.

Now I know why you said that one synagogue was located in Jurmala. Emmanuel, honest question. We're almost the same age. Born in the USSR. There was no need to discuss religiosity then, we were all pioneers, and Komsomol members. When did your faith turn?

In the mid-80s, my family and I relocated to the USA, and we can claim that it was at this time that I started to follow the customs and practices of my culture. Even though I'm not a part of the orthodox faith I am aware of an internal desire to be a part of the religious life, in whatever way it is, whether in the Jewish community that I reside in or in Moldova my home country and with whom I have close connections.

https://app.web-coms.com/members/emmanuil-grinshpunlqkn758/activity/1530841/ Although I'm not a religious person, I enjoy history immensely. I recently watched a documentary about events in 1492 that changed the course of the world and Europe. 1492 was the year that Columbus was the first to discover America. The program I was watching stated clearly that the discovery of America in 1492 wasn't as important as the Spanish monarchs' expulsion of Jews from Spain. They were granted acceptance by the Ottoman Empire when the mass exodus started of Jews to the Ottoman Empire. This is where I was looking for more information on the background of Jews as a whole. Would you recommend a book for me to study?

There are a lot of books. But I have completed all of them, and I would suggest Max Diamond, the two-volume Jewish historian. By the way, he is from Finland.

What is your "personal" story ? https://anotepad.com/notes/dgk8y6tb Unfortunately I'm as far as my maternal grandmother and 1910. Paternal side: One step beyond, but not enough.

Our family was a part of Floresti for hundreds of years, according to our paternal lineage. The evidence from monuments and documents show that they were already wealthy by the year 1830. They owned a furniture manufacturer, many shops, and land plots. My maternal ancestors also lived in Ungheni. These dates are in the region between the 17th-18th centuries. Grinshpun can be described as a surname with German roots. This makes us Ashkenazis from Eastern Europe.

This is a question regarding the maintenance and restoration of synagogues. I heard that you have funded the reconstruction of three synagogues. One is situated in Chisinau. Jurmala is the other one.

Эммануил Гриншпун The third, and the biggest, is located in Netanya located in Israel. It is home to more than 1,000 people who pray each day. It is a major symbol of Israel's religious culture. The second synagogue in Jurmala. In the beginning of the Second World War, the only synagogue left in Jurmala was destroyed. Before I decided to build a Synagogue, however, I had spoken to a lot of Jews in the area. It was a very successful project, which united the Jews in Jurmala. In fact it was the time when the Jewish community was rebuilt and is now in good standing. Three Torahs are now displayed in the synagogue. One of which I gave to the synagogue.

and and Chisinau

Yes. Alexander Bilinkis (left) and Alexander Weinstein (right) have joined me here. These three synagogues do not represent the only ones where I have been involved in restoration or construction. It was my responsibility to help in the support of synagogues throughout the countries that I've been a while. Therefore, my contribution comes from Monaco as well as in Miami an enormous community center for Russian-speaking Jews is in the process of being constructed with a value of around 12 million dollars. Chisinau will remain my support - the synagogue Rabbi Tsirelson is now one of the biggest within the city.

In addition to Jurmala, did you invite a rabbi to Chisinau?

Yes. It can be very difficult to identify the ideal Rabbi for the community. He should be capable and willing to be integrated into the life of the community, given the multitude of activities. It was wonderful to see that the rabbis in both Chisinau as well as Jurmala were able integrate seamlessly into the community's life.

You were elected the first vice-president, in 2019 of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress. What does this position have to do with you? How will international Jewish organizations impact global trends?

The Euro-Asian Jewish Congress is a influential political group within the post-Soviet region, but not only. It has offices across Australia, Japan Hong Kong, New Zealand, New Zealand and Eastern Europe. In 2010, I served as Vice President of Congress. But, in the year before I was named the First Vice President. Now, I'm responsible for the region with which I've strong political and business ties. These include Uzbekistan (Tajikistan), Kyrgyzstan (Kyrgyzstan). When you look at the trends worldwide, the barometer on attitudes toward Jews is either unchanged or decreased, which is very unfortunate. In addition, "down", refers not just to the developed nations such as the United States, France, Germany and France but also to other nations like Belgium as well as Germany. They aren't safe for Jews. These are very alarming and serious procedures.

What has the pandemic changed these processes and how has it affected these?

This isn't just my personal opinion. In the situation of the pandemic, I'd like to emphasize the positive things a country and society can achieve when they're ready for any situation and are able work effectively with each other.

Do you mean the Israeli vaccination campaign?

Exactly. Israel is first country in the world that provides 100% vaccination of adults. I consider this to be a an excellent example and a valuable an experience that other countries must consider taking into consideration.
