Avanos Medical has reported that there have already been 60 injuries and 23 deaths related to misplacement in feeding tubes for nasogastric patients using CORTRAK*2's Ental Access System. Avanos was the second warning issued by the FDA in 2022 regarding tube feeding through the stomach.
