It is known that the mac launcher doesn't work, minecraft crashes on launch.

You can download an app file to do this for you

The total process for launching properly is
1. Save the launcher jar on the Desktop in a folder known as ftb
2. Open terminal and sort

There is a plan (I'm pretty positive) to release the launcher in utility format for mac that can do this. (Will probably be linked changing the crossed out space on the primary publish). Nevertheless, good solution.

Just like with Vanilla server you may make a launch.command file
Heres a one I threw collectively based mostly on the code above

Just unzip and drop it into the identical folder you might have the FTB.jar in and double click.
Should you get an error saying it doesn't have permission, open a new terminal window kind in with out the quotes "sudo chmod +x (drag launch.command right here)" then hit enter.
Ensure that you've a space between the "+x" and the file path.

Have any of you tried merely beginning it with this:
Code:
cd ~/Desktop/ftb/ java -jar FTB_Launcher.jar

This has worked for me. I find it weird though that the game can not run without starting it this manner. Particularly since it doesn't throw any errors, but merely closes...
Have anyone investigated the cause for the odd habits when launching the jar by double clicking it, or is it nonetheless a mystery why it acts the way it does?

I know of the problems with LWJGL, have been following the development of that thread for some time.. wanna get the brand new model. The one which ships with Minecraft has a nasty memoryleak when it comes to age-changing in Mystcraft (probably additionally Nether/Finish, however unsure)

You possibly can open the terminal in two methods:
