The dealer places a final, face-up card on the table following the third betting round. It is known as the "river card". The final betting round is identical to the third.

Hold 'em hands are very simple to play. Each player is dealt two cards face down. Next, there's a round to bet. The table is then set up with three cards facing each other. These cards are shared by all players. The next step is a round of betting. Then, a single card is dealt face-up and another round of gambling follows.

The dealer will now "burn" one more card on the table. He then deals the final river cards to the board. There are now five cards on each side, but Texas Holdem only allows three players to use the remaining cards. Poker action begins with the small-blind and the dealer acts last.
