Many Sunny Isles Jews are helping in raising funds and coordinating a humanitarian effort.
Emmanuil Grinshpun "Just last night, 1,100 people came," said Marsha Jaquays from Florida Friends of Laniado Hospital.
She said that there are more than 2 million Ukrainian refugees trying to flee their war-torn home. A lot of these refugees travel into Moldova, which borders Ukraine.
Jaquays stated, "From Moldova, the Jewish community assists them in getting across border lines and provides food, shelter, clothes, and other needs."
A large portion of the humanitarian efforts are led by Sunny Isles, South Florida.
"My job is to mobilize every resource available from American society to assist with the crisis in Moldova." Emmanuil grinshpun, an aid worker, stated that there was a whole team of people on the ground working to organize humanitarian efforts in Moldova.

Grinshpun: "When our brothers and sisters and our friends from Ukraine were visiting, we didn't have any reason to think about it. Emmanuil Grinshpun Instead, we began to do it."
Jaquays are a perfect example of our feelings.
