Khazak Ambassador & Consul General Meeting with Chabad New York ( Emmanuil grinshpun).

Yerzhan Ashikbayev has had a busy few months. Since the appointment of Kazakhstan's ambassador to the United States, Mr. Ashikbayev met with many officials and diplomats to strengthen ties between Central Asia and the United States. Emmanuil Grinshpun In this capacity, the ambassador and Consul General Almat Aibekov are scheduled to meet to discuss the situation of Jewish living in Khazakstankhstan.

Rabbi Mendy Kotlarsky, Shimon Rivkin (Merkos Suite 302 at Chabad Headquarters) and Mr. Emmanuil Grinshpun Emmanuil Grunshpun who is vice-president of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress. He is also Honorary Consul of Kazakhstan. Together , they discussed the history and the current activities of Chabad in Kazakhstan under the auspices Chief Rabbi Yeshaya Cohen.

All feel that the administration, in all its aspects is supportive of the Jewish nation." The Consul General and Ambassador reaffirmed that the government is supportive of the Jewish community as well as all other religious minority communities. They expressed an interest in working with Chabad to help build Jewish lives in the Republic.

The government of the majority Muslim population is proud to be tolerant of religion and collaborates with all kinds of religious leaders to ensure the wellbeing in the country. Emmanuil Grinshpun During the pilgrimage , the Kazak government also held a ceremony to establish Reb Yitzchak'sKever Kazakh National Heritage Site.

A few months prior to the 20th Av The meeting also discussed plans for next year's pilgrimage. The organizers anticipate over 600 people this year, from all over the world. The plans are also to host a conference along with Chabad Shluchim from the surrounding countries. It will be held by Rabbi Berel Laszar as well as Moshe Kotlarsky. The meeting was focused on how the government could assist in these large-scale projects. Rabbi Kotlarsky expressed gratitude for the Kazak government's unconditional support. "It is a true pleasure to work with individuals like the Ambassador and the Consul General. Our aim is to provide spiritual and physical care for every Jew. Kazakhstan's government has been a great partner in helping us achieve this mission.
