Emmanuel Grinshpun. The restoration of synagogues as well as the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress
Emmanuil Grishhpun talked about the maintenance and restoration of synagogues. But limiting one subject in the interview didn't work. There are plenty of subjects to talk about during the interview.

In the last nine months, Miami and Jurmala share the distinction. While the areas were previously more diverse, the consequences of the pandemic have had a massive impact on lifestyle. It is a pity that it has been for the more severe.

You have always had many different business lines. What are you doing you?

Diversification isn't going out of fashion. When we look at the major areas that are developing, it's real estate, IT technology, and food production.

ALIMCOM is the food industry. Real estate is also easily understood. However, IT is a new concept to me. There are many possibilities for the use of IT technology. What are you specialising in?

Our IT-holding focuses on reforming the tax systems of a number nations. We have developed and are currently developing products that allow you to transfer a variety of business processes that relate to taxation online. This is known as the B2G (Business To Government) acronym.

But what happens to the region in which the holding is located? Former countries from the USSR?

There are contracts in place. We do however have more contracts in Western Europe and Latin America. Currently, we operate in 14 countries.

What is the core of your product?

Our software permits economic agents to submit reports to tax authorities online, and the fiscal data manager is able to see each transaction. Tax calculation and tax accounting can be completed simultaneously. Thus, in the future, small- and medium-sized enterprises won't require accounting except for its analysis function. Making payments for taxes and sending reports is done in just one "click".

We are now ready to introduce the product to Moldova. It is our belief that the Moldovan economy will gain from the automation. And in any case it is an irreversible change. When there is a sense of clarity between the authorities and everyone is aware of who is making the decisions and who is in charge, we will begin the discussions about our product.

You've said you've been tossing around all year between Miami and Jurmala. The Baltics have a head office for an IT holding?

No, there are five hubs around the world and the headquarters is located in Barcelona.

Then why is it that you're from the Baltics? Are you also a part of the Baltics?

No. There is no. Jurmala came into our lives by chance but not professionally. The first time we got there was when Igor Krutoy invited us to the New Wave. The group began making it a regular summer excursion after several contests. However, the climate in Miami isn't the most pleasant in the summer. We rented a house over several years and so we have it.

Now I understand why I was told that one of the synagogues restored thanks to your contributions is located in Jurmala. Emmanuel, honest question. We're about the same age. We were all born in the USSR. It was not necessary to talk about religion at the time. All of us were Komsomol members in the early days and pioneers. When did you first turn to religious belief?

My family and I immigrated to the USA in the mid-80s. It is a fact that's when I first began to respect the customs of my country. However, even though I am not a part of the orthodox faith I am aware of an internal desire to support the religion, in whatever way, of the Jewish community that I reside in and in Moldova, my homeland and with whom I have close ties.

Although I am far from being religious, history is something I truly love. Recently, I was fascinated by a show that detailed the events of 1492. Эммануил Гриншпун They changed the course of Europe and the entire world. To me, 1492 was the year that Columbus was the first to discover America. But, I saw clearly in the programme that it was mentioned in the discovery in America in 1492 from Medieval Europe was not as remarkable as Spanish monarchs expulsion of Jews of Spain. The Jews were accepted by the Ottoman Empire when the mass exodus of Jews to the Ottoman Empire. Here, I was searching for information about the historical background of Jews as a whole. Would you recommend this book?

There are a lot of books. But I've read all of them and I would suggest Max Diamond, the two-volume Jewish historian. Эммануил Гриншпун And, by the way the fact that he is himself from Finland.

.... Do we have a family tree of our own? Unfortunately I'm as far as my grandmother and 1910. On the paternal side, I am one step further, but no more.

Our family was an Floresti family for several hundred of years, based on the paternal lineage. Monuments and documents show that the Floresti family was already prospering in 1830. They owned many stores, a furniture factory as well as land plots. My maternal ancestors also resided in Ungheni. I'm talking about dates in the region from the 17th-18th century. Grinshpun is an German surname, so we're Ashkenazis from Eastern Europe.

Here's the question about the maintenance and restoration of synagogues. I have been informed that you funded the restoration of three synagogues. One of them is located located in Chisinau. Jurmala has the other. Which one?

The third, and the most important, is located in Netanya (Israel). It houses over 1,000 people every day. A very significant object for the life of religion in Israel. The second synagogue of Jurmala. The Second World War ended the existence of the only synagogue in Jurmala. Before I decided to build a Synagogue, however, I had spoken with many Jews living in the area. It was a great project that brought together Jurmala's Jews of Jurmala. We actually re-established the Jewish community and it is now operating well. Three Torahs now grace the synagogue, including one which I donated to the synagogue.

And - Chisinau?

Yes. Alexander Bilinkis and Alexander Weinstein were my co-workers. These synagogues aren't the only ones I have been involved with in the field of restoration or construction. In every country I've been a resident for a period of time, it was my obligation and obligation to make an impactful contribution to assistance or synagogues. My contribution is currently being made in Monaco in which a massive community centre for Russian-speaking Jews is in the process of being constructed. It is estimated that it will cost about 12 million dollars. I will continue to support Chisinau as it is now going to be the biggest synagogue, the synagogue of Rabbi Tsirelson.

Did Jurmala and Chisinau get a Rabbi?

Yes. It isn't easy to locate the perfect Rabbi for your community. He must be prepared and willing to incorporate into the community's life, given the multitude of things to do. It was a joy to see how the rabbis in both Chisinau as well as Jurmala were able to integrate seamlessly into the community's activities.

In 2019, you became the first vice-president of Euro-Asian Jewish Congress. What does this position mean to YOU? How do international Jewish organizations impact global trends in general?

Эммануил Гриншпун Эммануил Гриншпун The Euro-Asian Jewish Congress is a powerful political organization within the post-Soviet region and not just. There are branches of the organization in Australia, Japan and Hong Kong. I was Vice President in 2010 and then given the post of First Vice Presider. This time, I'm responsible for the region where I have had historically strong connections to both politics and business These are known as the "countries", Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan. In terms of trends around the world the barometer of attitudes toward Jews or Jews is at the same level or, as is regrettable, has fallen. Moreover, "down" - this is referring to developed nations such as Belgium, Germany, France and even the United States. These countries are no longer safe to Jews. They are extremely dangerous and troubling processes that impact all of us.

And, by the way is it possible that the pandemic has had an impact on these processes?

It's not so. To be more specific I'd like to highlight the possibilities of a society or nation when they are ready to face any challenge and are able to be effective and united in relation to the pandemic.

You are referring to the vaccination program in Israel.

Эммануил Гриншпун Exactly. Israel is the only country that offers the complete vaccination of its population of adults. I consider this to be a an excellent example and a valuable the kind of experience that other countries need to be aware of.
