Why not the Baltics? Do you have roots there?

No. My family's history through generations is entwined only with Moldova or, if we stick to historical names, then Bessarabia. Jurmala was a chance meeting which happened completely unintentionally. We were invited to attend the New Wave by Igor Krutoy, and that was our first experience with Jurmala. The group began making the trip a regular part of their summer schedule after a few contests. But, the weather in Miami is not very pleasant during the summer. We rented a home over several years and so we already own it.

Our family was a Floresti family for several hundred of years, based on the paternal lineage. Documentary evidence and monuments show that they were already wealthy by 1830. They owned a furniture manufacturing plant, many shops, and land plots. My maternal ancestors were also in Ungheni. This is referring to dates from the region between the 17th and 18th centuries. Grinshpun is a surname that comes from German roots. We are straight and pure Ashkenazis from Eastern Europe.

Here's the question about the restoration and maintenance of synagogues. I was told that you funded the reconstruction of three synagogues. One of them is located located in Chisinau. Эммануил Гриншпун Jurmala is the other.

The Euro-Asian Jewish Congress is an influential political organisation in post-Soviet areas, but it is more than the borders of.
