We were hoping it was going to be a bit further away however, it's not the case. ROKANTHEMES has announced that you can play Minecraft 1.19 right now. As long as you don't mind digging into the very experimental beta version, that is. Minecraft: Java Edition Players is now available in the first beta snapshot of 1.19. This allows you to explore the Deep Dark and meet with the Warden.
You can get details on how to install the snapshot over on the official site Be aware that you won't be able to open old worlds here. You'll need to create a new one and it is unlikely that you can carry any worlds from the test snapshot into the next version.
This snapshot isn't complete with all the features planned for 1.19, also called the Wild update. However, it does include the Deep Dark biome and the Ancient City biomes, as well as sculk blocks and the swift sneak enchantment.
It is important to remember that the new features are in an experimental phase. That means that the devs are still testing the way these systems work, so any particular feature could be subject to significant tweaks going forward.
